Well fellers and babes....I just wanted to happily report that my recent purchase of my '03 Busa has (as expected) been something of a "Cures All" for my previously insatiable appetite for power and acceleration.
In 2,000 I found myself dropping thousands on my '00 ZRX1100...Full Muzzy Megaphone Exhaust, DJ Jet Kit, Muzzy Cams, Air Box Removal Hardware with new CrankCase Breather set-up, Stage 3 Inividual Air Filters, Block Off Plates yada, yada, yada too take it's paultry 97RWHP and 72Ft Lbs too 112 RWHP 78Ft Lbs.
In 2001 I found myself dropping thousands on my 2nd bike...a Black '01 FZ1 that I found at a great price in NJ and flew one-way from florida to buy and then ride it the 1,275 miles back home...only to strip off the 30+ lbs of Exup Exhaust System to again spend thousands on a Full System Yosh, Ivans Jet Kit, A.I.S. Removal and numerouse ega monitored dyno sessions to tweak and tune it's stock 126RWHP/72 Ft Lbs too....138RWHP/78 Ft Lbs.
Well...outside of adding a 1 1/4" genmar riser, A Puig Touring Windscreen, Vortex Sliders, Goodridge SS Braided Brake/Clutch Lines and Ferodo ST Brake Pads (up front)?...I'm done.
I'm not gonna do the full exhaust/pc thing to my Busa...as we (it & I)..simply don't need to...leastways not for sport/touring public roadways and in a sick sorta way?...I'm kinda happy about that...I mean I know there'd be a seriouse weight savings advantage to be had by adding a full system and a few extra ponies with one of the many variations of an additional PC an the plethora of fuel/ign. maps they have to offer but....while I may do a 2 teeth up rear sprocket?...and maybe tweak in the suspenders a tad better?...this hurts to admit but...I've got all the power I need to keep a smile on my face for the riding I do...so why blow big bucks re-tuning it all to he11 and back again?..and for what?...those few extra ponies up top that I'll rarely if ever use?...for the louder exhaust note that will make the LEO's smile as I whiz by?...D@mn...I feeling old and boring taking on this new mindset...but that power wave on wheels I have set'in in my garage makes me feel anything but old or boring.
Help, Bill.
