Look if you wanna go 200 on a public road thats your business. My question is yeah the roads may be smooth and no traffic but what are you gonna do if a deer runs out in the road or something by all means mechanically goes wrong. You have a blowout or hit something that pierces your tire. Tracks are blocked off and cleaned to make sure there is nothing on them. You never know whats on a public road. A broken beer bottle is a common place. But anyways this is just my opinion and for you few guys that wanna go do it like I said have fun just try not to take another rider out when u do go outta control will ya?

Funny you say that....few years ago, we're at a local track (heavily wooded area) and while the cars were runnin a dear jumps the gaurdrail and scoots right across in front of the two cars that were running......bet ya it's not the first time......also....I don't know how many times I've seen parts come flyin off cars at any track ya go to and hit the car in the other lane.
Hell.....not many years back I heard of a rider loosin it and wiping out and killing the opposing rider....can't remember the track??

Dangit you beat me to it. I also run at a track that has woods around it. It is in the middle of the country with feilds around it everywhere. This highway we play on has as much of a chance of a deer crossing it as our dragstrip, good chance.

I'll agree though that younger guys don't use the sense that older guys do, but we have been through the senseless riding phase and have survived to tell about it.In time you learn where to go 200 and where not to. Main st. is a no no

Well I agree with what you are saying about the tracks cuz I have seen rabbits and all kinds of stuff like that run on them before. BUT they do maintain the track surface the way it should be and when you go to the track you are only endangering your life and the guy you are racing thats a risk you are both aware of and okay with......now what if you hit that deer on the highway and rather that just you wrecking your 500+ lb bike goes flying into three other cars or maybe a car with a baby in it. Those people were not ready to accept a risk like that they were just trying to drive somewhere safely. Now granted I know getting behind the wheel of a car is a risk in it's own but guys blowing by you doing 200mph or in anyplace where you MIGHT endanger someone else is just bad. But like I said it's my opinion but I will stick with the track. If I wipe out there it's my own fault not someone elses

OK....we need to clarify something again....Speaking for myself....if I push my bike up to Top Speed (which I do often)....I make damn sure there is absolutely not 1, and I MEAN NOT 1 other car or person on the road....therefore the only life I'm risking is my own!!!

And thats what i mean by being older and wiser, there is a time for it and not for it. The younger riders may not see it quite that way yet and hopefully will never kill anyone let alone an infant, but one day they will know when to and not to go 150mph over the speed limit and lets just hope it's sooner than later

I like to run my bike to believe me just like to see everyone be safe. I had someone cause me to wreck at high speed one time and it wasn't my fault.
