Because the kick stand leans to the left and it is awkward getting on it from the right. I get on using either side when my bike is in a chock

Right after I preflight and gear up, I have a prayer I say before every ride.

"Dear Lord, I pray that I die quickly and painlessly while doing something I love. But please, not today. Amen."

With a prayer like that, you'd better not forget to say it before EVERY ride lol
