ZX-12 Headache

To just change the oil, a 1/2" hole must be drilled through the number 3 cylinder wall and then injected with a combo of "Motor Medic" and Amzoil "Motor Flush". Then the motor started to bring it up to temperature, after which you roll ot to the street on "garbage day" for collection in the local landfill. As per Kawasaki Service Manual.

For the rural owners this procedure could be more ceremonial with inclusion of the disposal of a dead Cow(bring in the backhoe)!

The dead cow was suffering from Mad Kaw disease, usually brought on by a Falcon attack.

The Kawasaki manual actually states that for rural owners, there are more steps to complete the oil change:
1)Lay the ZX-12 on its side,
2)Shoot it once with a revolver,
3)pour 1/2 gallon of gasoline over it,
4)Toss a lit match on it,
5)Salute and play 'Taps'.

Kawabuser: You are correct about that oil change procedure. My uncle's brother's son's girlfriend's half-sister's husband's daughter works at Kaw head office, and confirms that not only must you destroy the engine to change the oil on the ZX12, but also that, due to internecine squabbling among North American Kawasaki dealers, new ZX12 owners will be required to persuade Harley-Davidson dealers to perform any necessary warranty work.

With this kind of poor preproduction planning, I just know in my gut we're better off sticking with our Hayabusas.

Hey I posted this elsewhere on this site but I just talked to my Kawasaki dealer and he said that any work done on the 12 ,plugs ,valve adjustments , injector balance. That the engine had to be dropped out of the frame due to it`s design! He said that to change the spark plugs it could cost $300 dollars! Is this true? I can`t believe that Kaw would over look something so critical as maintenance to gain the advantage over Suzuki. Please any info on this would be appriciated.
