Ricky Gadsen rode a new zx-12 to a 9.80 at 141mph last week in testing. This is in totally stock form. Lowering should get it to the 9.50's

These are the same numbers as a Hayabusa. My friend took my 1300 to a 9.42 at 146 this past weekend. He is also a great rider.

So the ZX hasn't won anything yet. But I think it will get closer to 200 than a 1300. Big deal. They will both be legendary bikes anyway.

...this is cool, now we have some competition. How long did you think it would take for some one to step up? They be holden back as it is, if ya ask me...they got a lot off balls putting this kind of bike out for the price of a Hundai as it is, if ya ask me, (which ya probably don't). What? Am I talken again?

Well, give us details like when, where, temps, etc. as well. Christ, he could have run that in Salt Lake City on a 100 degree day.

For me, the true test will be when I put my ass in the saddle and twist the throttle for myself. It's all just print, rumor or speculation until then. But, it's hard for me to believe that that bike is only a few mph better than my 900 through the traps.

Yep, ZX-9 If this is legit, then the terminal mph (as you know) is a problem. That speed should have been at least 145-146. Maybe the day, but that 9.80 sounds like a decent track with reasonable 60 ft. time. (down in the torque curve??) Kaw's going to have to do a little better than that. Wonder if that speed is poor aerodynamics?? What do I know.

I would not consider myself an insider, I just get some early information once in awhile. Nothing special.

As for the ZX-12, it sounds like it will be almost identical to the 1300 stock. It will make for interesting grudge and street racing. I also hear from high sources the ZX-12 won't handle big time modifications because of the strength of internal parts, and lack of aftermarket support. A turbo will even out any power problems, so this will be a very good match up for the next few years. I'll keep my 1300.

A bike making 180 HP at the crank with Gadson aboard only goes 141!!?? The bike should show its HP at the other end of the track....either, it's not making that kind of HP, or the info provided by TP13 is baloney. I am not going to believe anything until I see a test in the mags! You guys are ridiculous the way you fight about the zx-12 and the busa. How old are most of you guys anyway? You sound like your in high school.
Where are all the dragracers at on this site? My friend fell off his turbo kawasaki at around 160mph in Florida. Did anyone see it? It's a low 7 second bike and he's hoping to get it in the sixes.

Wait a minute. I thought the mighty ZX-12 was going to blow off the hayabusa or kawasaki wasn't going to release it. 9.80@141
with Rickey Gadson at the controls, they better go back to the drawing board. Maybe the wings on the forks are slowing it down.

I spoke to Ricky last night. He said that he has not ridden the ZX12 because it hasnt been released to the race team as of this time.

Well,I had a few beers with Ricky last night,he asked could he ride my Busa,I tossed him the keys(I mean,he is Ricky Gadson)when he came back he was as giddy as a schoolgirl,he said he never threw his leg over nothing as majestic as the Busa, then he promptly kneeled down in front of the Mighty Busa, and chanted "I'm not worthy,oh great one"at this time I was starting to get embarassed,so I pulled him up and smacked him around a bit and told him "snap out of it,Man"he asked me where was he,I told him, don't worry Rick your back to reality and I gave him the business card to my Suzuki salesman,he kissed my hand and ran to the ATM machine. :)

Hmmmm, I think I will stick with the option to buy a busa instead of the zx12. The zx12 looks nice but ....performance wise??? I take the turbo busa with nitrous please oh and a side zx12 for my dinner salad, hehehe

I will start he told me, and he said this if you want to hear it from Ricky himself go to dragbike.com in the talk forum under Attention Ricky you will hear exactly what he was doing on the ZX12R!!!!!!
