Three year old thread dude :poke:

If the only two choices are the ZX10 and the R1, my choice by far would be the R1. It handles much better than the 10 in stock form. It will build your confidence much faster than the 10. The 10 has a tweak more meaness than the R1 but you'll never know the difference when you twist the throttle. I have ridden both and the R1 is just a better bike all the way around in stock form.

However, the GSXR kicks both in the arse when it comes to competition. I have two GSXR1000's and dearly love strapping one to my underbritches. And, you can buy the gixxer for less money than either of the two preferred bikes.

However, I'm curious why you would rather have a second bike that costs more than your busa to beat around on? Why not just ride your busa and enjoy it? I didn't think it rained that much in Florida?

I have to disagree with you about not knowing the difference when you twist the throttle on either of the 2 bikes. For starters I am a huge R1 fan and have an '04 sitting in my garage as we speak. Pound for pound the ZX-10 will put a beat down on the R1. It does not deliver the explosive pwr like the ZX-10 aka widowmaker. I also have an 05 GSX-R1000, and only the ZX-10, '04-05, actually pose a threat.

the new r1 have a great motor so smooth and balanced, fires at every 9 degrees i think look into it its a way superior bike i think all around and is seaming sweeping in the races as well the new 09 motor is mean

my best friend just bought a brand new r1 2 weeks ago we just rode 200 miles today to try to get the break in done before next spring. we both went into the dealer looking to buy he did and i didnt i decided i want the 10 or 14 cause i like the looks better. no matter what liter bike you get excluding the cbr they will hang and ride the same. p.s the cbr is just plain junk and they are trying to give them away for 6999 now lol

+1 I would be more comfortable on the busa and get better wind and rain protection from it over the other two bikes. I like some of the tech on the R1. It would be a fun bike to have.:beerchug:
I think the Busa would be the better choice for commting rain or shine. those others will wear you down fast. I like the R1 better

ZX10, Feels closest to the GSXR, feels alot stronger than the R1. I've ridden all the R1s up to 07, so I can't really comment on the last one, but I really hated all the rest. The R1 steering just feels weird to me, every generation too, like it needs a steering wheel, the bars feel like they turn entirely too much for even the slightest left/right wheel movement.
