i like it cuz the "lines" seem to match up well between the Gen1 & the 08 tail. Also, I like the rear signals of the 08 cuz they're large & visible but not stickin out the side. They're more ingrained into the style of the bike kinda givin a seamless style & retaining functionality

???After seeing this I thought of how much I did not care for the 08 rear but then came up with one kick ass idea for the two lights on the side just turn them into nitrous bottles that would look cool. I am going to have to look into this idea.

i did have to change the front seat, well it took a couple months because the painter painted the bike the wrong color..... the main reason i did the swap was because 9 years of the same tail section got a little old to me..... i think the 08 looks a little more aerodynamic... THANKS TO THE PEOPLE WHO LIKE IT

The tail and color is from a '08...it looks ok, but why not just buy the better bike ('08) or just not spend the $$$ to put a '08 tail on a '05 ???

one distinct advanatage about doing "mods" is that it is doing something diffrent to your bike than original and to "personalize" it. good job it looks good.. and rekat...good to see you still out and about.

I saw where CSC sells a complete kit to put an 07/08 GSXR 1000 tail on a Busa. Which is what I am wanting to do. But the whole kit is 1800 bucks. Too pricey. I have access to a wrecked 08 1000 with a good tail section. Not damaged at all. I can get all I want off of it for next to nothing. I wonder how hard it will be to do myself.
