I bought this bike about a month ago. The bike was slid on the left side and the pickup agency dropped it on the right side. Cosmetic dmg only. The bike did not have midpipes or mufflers, no mirrors and the seat was tore up. I drilled the cracks to stop them. Then, I epoxied the "two-piece" broken front fender, the belly pan and some of the other plastic cracks as a temporary fix.
Basically, the bike is roadworthy again instead of sitting and waiting in the back corner of a overly crowded garage.
I am burning up the rear tire fast practicing burnouts because I bought a set of qualifiers that I plan on mounting after it snows.
Two weekends ago, I went riding early in the morning, very cold. I found some twisties that were in the shade so I had to make sure the asphault wasn't iced up from the rain the other day. At the end of the run I had a much better feel for the bike, got off, and warmed my hands on the exhaust. After, I got back home I didn't want to stop riding so I went up a random side street and saw a Red 00' zx1200 just washed and a guy standing there on a cell. I pulled into his driveway and while waiting for him to finish his call, another superbike pulled up. It turned out they just happened to be going riding that day with a group of six. Let me tell you this was the best day ever. This was my first time to get to ride with a group and on my new bike. There was an R6, R1, Triumph I-4, zx1200, my busa, honda shadow, and a 1600cc monster cruiser bike. We went some 150 miles around the valley; it was awesome. And it looked sweet with all seven bikes parked together, on a random corner in a hill-billy town while we ate lunch.
Last night I plugged in a model 005 Ivan TRE and the bike still runs, which is good. I didn't mess anything up. I do feel a difference but will have to ride when its not so cold to really tell.
