07 GSXR 1000

Hopefully the '08 will be an improvement. All these bikes have been upgraded in the past year or so to rival the Busa.

I know kids love the Busa though. Because everytime I stop and eat somewhere I come out to tiny fingerprints all over the tank and hump

maybe it has something to do with mom and dad stopping and looking.

(BigDiesel @ May 09 2007,06:40) no doubts, the '07 GSX-R 1k is fast...as fast as a fairly stock Busa...but if said Busa were to, say, meet up with a new PC/Airfilter/Boxmod/Exhaust/sprocket combo-i think that 1k would be eatin humble soup everywhere but the corners.
Actually... from what ive seen , it takes all that just to stay even with the new 1000.

The K7 1K is a monster. If one gets the jump on you, you might get owned. You know what that means right. MORE MODS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, after my first week of ownership of the new '07 1k. I must say and I know many of you won't believe this but I am actually more comfortable on the 1k. I have the pegs in the lowest position which so far has still provided me with enuff ground clearance to keep from dragging them. The seat is well,,, ok the seat sucks..lol..but the performance, it's hard to compare for me. To me the 1k seems to just be like many others have said "a beast" . Maybe its all the vibrations you get on the 1k vs. a busa im not sure. But the 1k seems like it pulls every bit as hard if not harder than the busa does. The 1k is pure sweetness in the twisties so light and agile. I don't feel like I have been lifting weights after riding the 1k thru a nice section unlike the busa. This weekend will be the ultimate test I suppose comfort wise. Going on a 200+ mile run with some folks in the area. Will update tomorrow afternoon.

Peace out!

(busabutter @ May 09 2007,00:27) I tried to talk a friend into getting a hayabusa.  But he just didn't like the way it looked.  Instead he gets a new 07 GSXR 1000.

It comes with a mode selection which gives 3 different power settings,  thought that was nifty but whats the point,  isn't there a power selector already on the right side of the handle bar.

Anyways we ran them.  He doesn't believe in break ins.  Just warm up the bike and wot.  His break in lasts 20 min and then its drive it like you stole it.

So we run the bikes, it was neck and neck.  So we decide to hop on the interstate so we can go wot longer.  To my surprise we were neck and neck the whole way.  I don't know how long we wen't seemed like  a couple of miles and I didn't even bother to look down at the speedo but I couldn't pull away from him.

Is this bike a bad bitch or is the hayabusa showing its age.
What have you done to get your Busa to run side by side to a GSXR1K7?

Any good rider on a GSXR1K7 will smoke a stock or even mildly modified Hayabusa to 140 mph. Its only at these speeds that the aerodynamics of the Hayabusa start helping out.

Thanks for the update, Jay. That orange and black is awesome

. I'm not shocked that you find the 1K more comfortable. It feels very comfortable sitting on it at the dealer. The problem for me is the passenger comfort. My wife is 5'7" and the 1K seat and peg configuration is a little awkward for her, and it puts her higher in relation to me (than on the Busa), and that would probably take away some of the sweet handling advantage. That ended that.

Ya, im in total agreement with ya there Red the 1k is definatley not the one for 2up riding unless you are talkin bout 2 little folks..lol. Definatley busa time there.

+1.

from what i seen and experienced in any straight line race a 1 liter can forget it. now me and my friends busas are set up for straight line performance but all we have are bolt on parts, no nitrous or turbos. im one of the slower in the group and mine runs 9.7's in the 1/4 with a worn out street tire(no drag radial) and a fat guy driving.

on the other hand a busa trying to road race with a liter bike is crazy.

what i tell everybody is buy what you like and dont worry what other people think.

what sold me on the busa is at bike night there will be 100 liter bikes sittin around but when 1 lowered busa rolls up everybody forgets about the liter bikes and comes to check out the busa.
