Hey all, new member, first Hayabusa.

She just got delivered today. '09, black, sleek and powerful. After reading through the manual, cleaning out the storage shed, and diligently taking the dogs for a walk, my end of the bargain for owning a new bike was complete and wife gave the green light to play.

Threw on my helmet and revved her up a bit, nice purr. First gear, let out the clutch just a bit. Smooth sailing. Okay, now let's just touch the throttle...and.....OMFG BRAKE!! BRAAAAAAAKE! ..... phew, okay, she lives up to her reputation. Thought I might drop her for a sec. After taking her for a short trip around town, I was satisfied with my purchase, pulled into the driveway, turned the bike off, stepped off and no? no! oh no non o nononononoNONONONO! ...... well crap, a bit heavier than I thought eh? Still a nice bike, even lying on it's side like a dead dog. The mirrors flex nicely against the asphalt though. Luckily there's only a superficial scratch. Think I'll just keep to the backroads for a bit until I fully get the hang of how she feels. What do you think?

:welcome: to the org. sorry about the lay down

:welcome: to the oRg, did the same thing but at a stop sign on the second day I owned my '06.

:welcome: like the sayin' goes: it's not if, it's when, at least hopefully you got the token drop outta the way and it was at a standstill @ home:thumbsup:

i rolled mine over each side within the first month. Never was used to such a high sitting bike.
Sorry for your mishap!

Got the first one out of they way some may say.

Sorry to hear about it, Take it easy, Learn the bike, and when you think you have it figured out, Learn some more, She is a monster.

I layed a bran-new 6R down about 1 week after I got it. It really does pay to make sure you have the kick stand extended fully forward.... :banghead:

It happens. Just take your time, get to know your new steed, and please be careful. :beerchug:

Ack! I forgot the pics! Only have 1 right now, but I'll take some more and upload them.

Thx for the support, hopefully this will be the only fall, or at least the first of a very few. Promise to upload more pics as I get them!

Edit: No security for the bike ATT. Hence the heavy chain on the wheels. Will get better system once I can save a bit more.

The backroads of NC worked for me....

Enjoy her and be careful.... congrads

Beutiful bike. Sorry about the mishap. Color Rite makes some good touch up paint. Might be able to hit the scratches and buff her out. Heres a link for ya.

Dam man, did you get off without putting the kickstand down or what? Oh, and those chains are gonna scratch the **** out of you wheels. Be careful bro!

:welcome: To the ORG.
Yes, please ride safe!
I think I am worried that the chains will scratch those nice rims.
But I also understand about keeping "Sticky Fingers Pete" from getting to her.
Ride often and remember about the Busa - A little throttle is more than a lot bikes can ever produce, she is quick and fast, be careful and get used to her.

I always say - Its not about controlling the Beast UNDER the seat!

PS - We love pics and will require more when you get riding.
Thanks

Bubba
