I know how you feel, I am 20 and no department will even touch me due to accreditation and insurance standards.  I applied to numerous agencies and did so many interviews I got sick of the whole process and almost gave up, but I seen an openning for a correctional officer position at the state prison so I started the whole dang process over again and fast forward 3 weeks later.....I got a call today saying to show up for oreintation on friday.  I dont know if I am happier getting the job or knowing I wont have to interview for a while.  So now I have to find a department that will take me as a reserve so I can keep my law enforcement ceu's up, its a never ending process just keep on plugging along and you will catch a break eventually.

Hope all goes well for you. I just got back from 7 hours of testing for the IDOC. Man what a ##### that was. I won't know anything for 6 to 8 weeks, so I guess I'm in the same situation as you. Just hangin out and see what happens.

If you get past this stage drop me a pm, maybe I can give you a few tips - than again depending on my results from yesterday, and what my outcome may be - you may want to run away from any advice I can give ya...lol

i worked for idoc for 9 years now, what prison are you trying to go to, the IYC in your town?
