2005 is nearly over...

let's see...2005....2005. Hmm....aah! My brother was cleared of all charges! Thanks again folks.
smile.gif
Now let's see...what else was there?

Hmm...nothing. It sucked. Didn't win one single raffle here and elsewhere, Co-worker left, got stuck with a buncha crap I'd rather not deal with (who would, right?), have too much debt, friend's father passed away, boss is going to leave, ASA going to leave, gonna have a new supervisor that don't know crap AND...........

I still can't ride. Beautiful. Abso-FUGGIN'-lutely beautiful. Yay....come on 2006. Seems to me it's gonna be another year of being stuck up shid creek with a dinner roll for a paddle.

In the grand scheme of life 2005 was not that bad for me, but I am definitely hoping for a better 2006!

For me it's been a great year, walked up a mountain in Honduras becase it was there, found a nice swimming hole and a God made waterslide. I spent some time in Chile South America, that was cool. I took my wife up to the mountains for a few days of relaxation, hiking, and riding. My daughter married a young man that I think is alright. At Thanksgiving I had all four of my kids, my foreign exchange student from a few years ago, my son-in-law, my daughter-in-law and my grandaughter all over for thanksgiving dinner.

The year started off rough because my friend and riding buddy Steve was hit on his motorcycle by somebody that fled the scene, just 3 days before Christmas 2004, Steve died on Jan 4th of this year from injuries sustained that day. The good news is Steve had made arangements to spend eternity with God in heaven (as Big Dawg was talking about) so that turned out to be a plus for him.

I thank the Lord for keeping me crazy ass alive during my newbie phase. I really should've been dead about 12 times over.

Reflections......mmmmmmm......Well I have my second Busa sitting in my garage, a great new job, all my kids were with me for the holidays, I went on two really great trips on my bike this year, met lots of new fun people to ride with. What else could a girl ask for!

other than the busa 2005 sucked
Cousin died
katrina made most of my family homeless
dad had a stroke
grandpa had heart surgery (2nd time) and a broken hip
g/f out of work most of the year leaving me to float the whole house
fell down a flight of stairs and screwed up my ankle and knee
realized I am an old fart (@41)

Ready for a hopefully happy and prosperous 06

Reflecting back this year....good one Michelle, Its been almost a year since I joined this board, that has been something I have enjoyed. For this year in a whole, We have seen alot of tradgedy in this country and foreign as well. It seems as though Mother nature is trying to send us a message. I think we need to look strongly at our enviroment and start cleaning up our air and water.
Political policys I have seen more people corrupt in our government, and a president who's popularity has hit an all time low...which no other has seen since Trumans days. Inflation has started to rise and so has the interest rates, housing was good, but now I think its going to crash.
Deaths of celebraties has been another tragic one....Bob Denver, Richard Pryor, did the Pope die this year? Scandals after scandals unfold in the news daily of corporate america,.....HOLD ON A SEC...getting a Zannix or better else Prozac....
Oh has America seen all the commercials this year with drugs.....we got the cure for anything and everything.
Sports well Tennessee rated #1 before the season ...finished up last, a devastating year for the Vol's fans.
At home I personally have had tradegy with the loss of a newphew such a young age......(pause for a moment)
sad.gif
This year has been alot of adversity with my Busa from going 90mph and loosing a chain to only riding one ride the Toys for Tots donations this Christmas. I put less then 200 miles on my bike for the year.
I think as a whole We the people of this board, continue to keep positive its the American way. This year Im looking forward too and know there again will be struggles, heartbreak and other issues that I will face like all of us, its life folks, but the spirit of mankind seems always to prevail and that we will do. So here's to us the board members, our nation, our country men, and to those that allow me the freedom to be here right now...may God Bless us all and may we all endure thru good times and bad times and no that regardless what comes or goes God knows best!
wink.gif

What stood out this year in your mind?

I think of all the coverage on Terri Shiavo...Hurricane Katrina...we ended last year by losing 1/4 of a million souls to a tsunami on the other side of the globe...our board lost Julia (Flying Swan) this year...yeah, it's been a rough year for a lot of people...
sad.gif

What else? Johnny Carson and Richard Pryor are gone...seems all I'm recalling are bad things here...

Someone post up good news...

And hurry up 2006!!!!!
smile.gif
The only things I even try to remember anymore are the good things. Time with family and friends, good rides, etc... The rest I try to forget by the time I wake up the next day. Lots of good reflections from 2005 for me though.

Considering some of the things that have happened at work lately I'm just happy to be alive and in one piece with no more holes than I started the shift with. It's been a heck of a few weeks...

But life is still good so far!
biggrin.gif

The year had it's ups and downs, great joy, and intense sorrow. All in all, I give thanks for what I have, and realize that no matter how hard parts of this year were for me, other people had it a whole lot worse.
Looking forward to 06..........

Oh, and I'm still waiting for my good news Michelle.

Got my fingers crossed BT!

I don't know why all the bad stays with me...I know how fortunate I am to have my health, my family's health...when I think of this year, I see all the news of missing and murdered children at the hands of sexual predators, the victims of all of the natural disasters around the globe, the deaths of so many famous and loved people, and yes, the Pope was one of them...no matter what your views on religion, knowing that such a loved human being had reached the end of his days was sad
sad.gif

Personally, it's been a rough year...it started with my grandfather's passing just before last Christmas, then I sat with my step father for a week watching him go through the stages of death. I took with me no fear of dying, though I don't quite know why just yet...that was the absolute toughest thing I'd ever done in my life, being there to see someone's last breath.  There are no words...

Mike had surgery followed shortly by me having unexpected back surgery, one son ended up in the ER and the other now wears "braces" for his feet, all within a month of my surgery...it was a busy time and the med bills are overwhelming...hubby crashed in to the neighhbor's garage door and set us back another $400, then he went down on another buddy's Road King at the tune of $2500 to fix...our TV blew a gasket two weeks before Christmas setting us back another $660 to fix it...I cut my sister from my life because she can be the most hateful person at times...it's been a tough year!  But, I know it could always be worse...so, I'm thankful for what I've got and I hold those that I've lost very close to my heart...

...and I think I need to stop watching the news so much!

Here's to a great 2006!!!  It's going to be good...I just know it...

Reflections? Only in the mirror.

Spent most of the year looking for a new house. Finaly closed on 9 Dec. Should finish moving everything this weekend. Our other house has been on the market since June, and have only had 1 unacceptable offer.

Decided to sell the Busa. She will go on E-bay in the spring.

Got a dog in Feb. Great mut. Smart as hell, and dumb as a box of rox. Wouldn't know what to do with out him.

Bought a Harley-Davidson Street-Rod (V-Rod)..... All I can say is never again!!!!! POS!!!!

Only put 4K miles on both bikes combined. That would make about 5500 miles in the last two years. Very dissapointing.

Bought an Arctic Cat V-2 650, 4x4, 4 wheeler. Haven't had time to ride that either. I am hoping for Sunday.

Good to be in the new house, but I'm ready for this year to be over.

Later,

Steve

...and I think I need to stop watching the news so much!
I hate the news... The only part of the news I'll watch is the weather forecast occasionally just to see if any off days look like they might be ridin' days.
wink.gif
Speaking of that, Sunday is supposed to be sunny and 63 degrees. I'm plannin' on rollin' out if I don't stay out all night Saturday and sleep all day Sunday.
laugh.gif

I thank God for another great year here on this blue marble and that He please watch out for my brothers and sisters that are deployed around the world.

2005 was not very good for me unfortunatly.

4300.00 in damages to the Busa due to some bunk azz Italian movers.
Lost my job.
Moved to freakin Minot ND.
About 5 grand in debt.
but.......

here is the good:

I will get fully reimbursed for the Busa!!!!
I have several job referrals all over the States (Not Minot)
I qualified for a 340.00 a week unemployment check (this helps)
The whole family is in good health.
Both cars are running good.
Son got a 2005 CRF 50 Dirtbike.
We're finally back in the States, even though it is in ND:)
And the final good thing that happened in 2005 is the Busa is paid off....yea baby!!!
