OK, a bump. Since I've never played fantasy football, I need to review the rules, but I'm probably gonna be in on it just for the fun and for the .Org.

I think you have to use a combination of both...
Especially with the groupings as they are...
I have my team picked, and I am going against myself on one of my choices from Group B - but we'll see how testing plays out.
As the first year of the 800's this will be a good year to start!

I am going mostly with proven performance, but also made a couple selections from the heart and hopes

Folks, how are we going to keep track of this? Are we going to keep posting in this thread, will Cpt. Allow us our own llittle section on this forum, umm...if not maybe a little website one of us can put together where we can all rant & rave, and see current results. Would be cool to make some Team Avatars or something....jesh, I'm really getting into this!
I had to go back and watch all my GP races on DVR, considering wet / dry conditions, reading Bio's, looking at team funding, researching 250cc past stats, revisiting WSB results, age, weight, injuries, oh man....so much to base a final decision on.... Good Luck everyone, and this is gona be a great season!

I think this thread is where it will all take place... got my team picked too - just watching the tests right now.
Maybe the Cap will give us a Fantasy MotoGP forum, but most likely not.
This thread will stay pinned until all entrants are in and entry fees paid, most likely 05Mar07.
Then we'll un-pin this thread and replace it with another thread that will be pinned in random thoughts. The first 3 to 4 posts will be Rich or me only and they will be the stats spreadsheets. This way we can edit those posts with updated stats and they stay at the very front of the thread. Then the rest of the thread can be chit chat as the weeks go by. For example, "Rich!! I can't believe you rested Hayden at Laguna!!! What were you thinking!!!?"

In the 1st post, I have a section called rule amendments. As we refine the format and scoring, I will post ALL changes there as amendments. It is our goal not to have to change anything once racing begins.
We have refined the scoring system to minimize confusion and possible conflicts. Only the fastest lap and highest top speed categories have been changed;
The scoring for Fastest Lap and Top Speed has been changed. The new format is as shown;
4)Fastest Lap in Race. The 5 fastest laps from 5 different riders from the Race only will be scored as follows;
Fastest Lap in Race = 15pts
2nd Fastest Lap in Race = 12pts
3rd Fastest Lap in Race = 9pts
4th Fastest Lap in Race = 6pts
5th Fastest Lap in Race = 3pts
All other riders are scored 0pts.
5)Top Speed in Race. The 5 highest top speeds from 5 different riders from the Race only will be scored as follows;
Highest Top Speed in Race = 15pts
2nd Highest Top Speed in Race = 12pts
3rd Highest Top Speed in Race = 9pts
4th Highest Top Speed in Race = 6pts
5th Highest Top Speed in Race = 3pts
All other riders are scored 0 pts.

They didn't have this as a separate package last year.
The high res for the race live is 720x576 pixels at 1000kbps.
Standard live video res is 380x284pixels at 450kbps.
It appears that high res race videos(taped) are only accessible with the high res package.
Not sure about premier package, it says something about only viewing the race video once....

Continuing subscriber Premium package 45.95 euros $60.55
High Res Premium package 99.95 euros $131.70
Ouch, prices are up this year....
