2008 Gen II total sales???

Being a sort of dealership bum on the local scene my guess would be that sales have gone decently but are down compared to prior years. My guess would go further that each year without a revamp (something beyond a color change) will see sales further decline and Suzy will not be able to go 8 years without a platform change as with Gen 1.

According to Suzuki, sales have increased EVERY year since '99 that the Hayabusa has been out. I don't know about '08 but I would imagine it would improve with a new model release but I could be wrong.

I would bet down only because of the whole recession thing. People just don't have the money they had in prior years. But I could be wrong.

I ve done my part for the 08, back in May I gone 1. Although it took 2 years of convincing my wife that I AM getting a new motorcycle. She finally gave in. The day I went to buy it she came with me and to ease my guilt a little bit I let her pick the color. The dealers I checked with only had the black and the orange /black, every1 was outta the blue one which was what I wanted. She picked the orange/black..

I had to buy two since one was stolen. Mine is the faster orange one. My friend bought his first so he didn't know that....he does now.

I've read that the Gen I Hayabusa had increasing sales numbers every production year with over 10,000 for 2007, does anyone know how the 2008 sales have gone so far? Just curious...

I would be very surprised if 2006 and 2007 sales showed increases in raw numbers over previous years. But it would make a lot of sense for 2008 to show a sharp increase. 2009 might be flat, but there are a lot of factors like the bad economy.

Also motorcycle sales were really high in general in 2008 because of soaring gas prices. More new riders in 2008 than in any previous year. My dealer sold more '08s than '07s according to the finance guy I spoke with.

I got mine.... :cheerleader: I hope they sell enough to continue the blood line. I find it difficult to believe that they can't sell 'bout a million of them....I guess a vast majority of people are happy with just a cage. If they only knew... I mean how many dudes could not want one. Worse than neglecting babes.

I would say that 2008 sales were up, but can't find any figures for 2008. I know that in early June my local dealer had sold the 40 she was allotted. She pulled strings to get mine. The Hayabusa has shown increases in sales since it's introduction in '99 and 2008 marked the introduction of it's Generation II Busa. Might be to early for those figures, I don't know.

No, they didn't completely reinvent the Busa, but who would
