But there's a redwood grove we have to check out. A chance to get off the bikes during our all-day ride, stretch the legs, and do a bit of tree hugging.

After a day on the bikes...

Doing my part to evangelize the universe

One might think this is a dumb idea, but I had a new rider sign up for a Pashnit Tour. When I asked him why he was here, said somebody had left a Pashnit sticker on his bike & he googled it.

The highlight these NorCal rides is we always go to the same place in Fortuna, the Eel River Brewing Co.

I don't drink, but my riders do, so taking them directly to the brewery where they actually make the beer a few feet away from where you're consuming it is always a highlight for our riders.

I'm just here for the pie.

Your mission if you choose to accept it:
Take the fast direct way, 300 miles and home. Boring.
or..
Ride 10 hours & nearly 500 miles across the state on your Hayabusa through the mountains to home base.

10 hour/ 500-mile day sounded way more fun.
Start in the Redwood Forest along the Pacific Coast on Highway 36

Zipping along Highway 36 and a sign flashes by. Gotta check this out. Not a soul around. I have the forest all to myself.

Crazy part is these trees can be 300 feet high. First branch can be 100 feet off the ground.
