24mm external hex socket

I had the same problem with the front axle on my Hayabusa. I purchased a 16mm Coupling nut which has a 24mm hex on it. The standard lenth of the nut is 48mm It cost like $1.00 form a local engineering fastener company. Just use a 24mm socket & your away

Yep, that or a 5/8ths bolt and nut.

Oops... *did not loosen the pinch bolts first. *I was using the Clymer Manual -- it did not say loosen the pinch bolts first. *I will give it a go. *

That's what you get for following instructions ;-0

If you leave the pinch bolts tight to hold that end of the axle shaft and just loosen the big nut on the other end first. Then loosen the pinch bolts and slide the axle out. :beerchug:

I think the other problem is the "nut" on the other side. 7/8 will do it. The last time I checked there was no wrench in the tool kit. There is one for the rear axle nut.
