3800miles..same tyre?

Extract from MCN related to busa tires:

MCN (UK mag) has a 'busa on long term test and this week......

"two rears and one front chewed in 4000 miles . This time I've opted for MEZ4.. Slightly narrower than the bridgestone. The profile is shallower too, which makes the bike a bit easier to turn..... This bike is deceptively
easy to turn on them. A good thrashing following a police rider friend later that evening scrubbed them all the way across, but while a ride of that intensity would have left the bridgestones feathered up, the cooler running MEZ weren't even marked. So I suspect they'll last a lot longer
then the B's."

Heheheh...looks like I beat all you guys...just changed the stock rear tire last week after 5300 miles! No, I didn't pamper it that much either.

Thanks Pete...That's good info..I had been leaning towards the Metzeler, I still am concerned about having the stock Bridgestone on the front though...I will probably replace the rear with stock and replace both as a set next time around with something else. I'll be interested in how many miles you get out of it....let me know.

C'mon Motoboy, tell me you were babying that thing!

Motoboy, 5300 miles without new buns is a disgrace.

Rule of Thumb: New buns all around with every oil change.

And if you're really serious, with every fill up.

Heheheh... No, I really wasn't babying it...I ride 90 on the freeway all the time, take it to the twisties every two weeks or so. No burnouts though, until just before I was ready to change. I was pretty surprised at the tire life myself. There was still tread left in the center, even.

I hear that DP....I'm gonna change both no matter what next time..(Oh what's that honey? No, I said THESE tires will last for 10,000 mi. I'm not spending anymore money...really) Ha Ha. She just doesn't understand. HA

Oh yeah....I emailed Dunlop to see if I could run their D207 tire or if they would recommend a tire for the Busa and if they didn't have one to recommend, could they work with Suzuki to develop one...this is what I got back....

"Sorry, but Dunlop does not have fitment for your motorcycle..."
