45 mpg?????

is anyone seeing this kind of fuel mileage because that is what my dealer said i would get just curious?

If I ride easy and keep under 70MPH and don't twist it to hard in the 1st few gears I can peg the computer at 50 MPG. But most of the time I get 42 to 44 MPG

I don't think I've ever seen 45. The best I achieved on a single run was a short 300 mile ride a month or so ago. Kept it @ about 80-85 mph avg. Not many hard accels, just smooth throttle...got 43 on that trip.
Overall avg is about 38 or so.

Oh, mine is totally stock.

Saw 40's during breakin with the speedo uncorrected. After I started runnin It hard and put on a speedo-healer It runs right at 30.

street riding i get around 25. highway, taking it easy.. i get 47-49.. when i decided 2 do some high speed stuff for a long distance.. around 36.

I just passed 6700 miles and my trip2 has never been reset....it is showing 40.9mpg.....mine will get 45mpg on the highway if i keep her at about 80.

Went for a ride a month ago or so-- steady--then a 159 GPS Blast---- 20 min's later a 166 GPS blast---with saddlebags-- on it here and there--pull into a gas station-- 104 miles from home and fill it with 1.9 gallons. Then a few weeks ago we did 285 miles--average was about 45 mpg

Mine with D&D Slip ons was getting about 47-48. Threw in a K&N air filter and it dropped to around 25. Seriously dissapointed in that.

If your a keep the RMP low on all the gears... with no performance mods, it should be possible

Keep it under 3K and you'll see 45mpg.

I was getting 45mpg when I was breaking her in.

Now I get 25-35.

Wow you guys sure have me relieved. I am constantly blasting over 150 almost daily and was concerned that everybody gets such great mileage. My usual is around 25 mpg or so when riding hard (everyday).

35-41 for me. 37 seems to be my average. I'm pleased with that.

You'll get good mileage if you turn the engine off and freewheel when going downhill.

Run it under 4k rpm, if ya can, and it'll get near 40mpg.

I get 46-48 @ 70 mph on the Interstate. Worst at hard riding is 35 mpg.

Kept it under 3K for a whole tank. Most boring riding ever.

I get 35 to 36.
