My Busa hit the 500 mile mark pulling into the garage last ride...so I was eager to go for my ride today, cause' it was up to
8 grand time on the tach. The first chance I got I lit into her (up to about 8 thou) expecting the world....and got considerably less
I expected that "holy sh*t" feeling but instead got "this don't feel THAT fast". In the Busa's defense I live at about 5000 feet of elevation, had a full tank, and it was a warm day.
I tend to have pretty high expectations that aren't always met
But from what I've heard/read I did expect more. I walked away from my buddy's 95 GSXR-1100 that is piped/jetted and geared down....and I only used 3/4 throttle and under 8 grand on the tach to do it....and I never really got the Busa over eight all day. And as the temps cooled and I hit some mountain twisties it did seem to get faster. And it got downright freaky fast at about 7.5 grand in top gear....like a runaway locomotive
I broke it in on the aggressive side of the reccomendations and it runs, handles and rides like a dream. I'm coming off a Ninja 1000R that was piped/jetted/advanced/geared down slightly, and I've ridden my buddy's 95 1100, but they both also felt a little slow to me. The Busa feels slower sometimes...then faster others. I'm not sure if the weather/altitude is affecting it, or maybe I'm just used to loud, top end screamers and the Busa's taller gearing, flatter powerband, and quiet pipes are making it seem slower than it is. Any and all feedback's appreciated
