A little dissapointed.....

My Busa hit the 500 mile mark pulling into the garage last ride...so I was eager to go for my ride today, cause' it was up to
wink.gif
8 grand time on the tach. The first chance I got I lit into her (up to about 8 thou) expecting the world....and got considerably less
sad.gif
I expected that "holy sh*t" feeling but instead got "this don't feel THAT fast". In the Busa's defense I live at about 5000 feet of elevation, had a full tank, and it was a warm day.
I tend to have pretty high expectations that aren't always met
eek2.gif
But from what I've heard/read I did expect more. I walked away from my buddy's 95 GSXR-1100 that is piped/jetted and geared down....and I only used 3/4 throttle and under 8 grand on the tach to do it....and I never really got the Busa over eight all day. And as the temps cooled and I hit some mountain twisties it did seem to get faster. And it got downright freaky fast at about 7.5 grand in top gear....like a runaway locomotive

I broke it in on the aggressive side of the reccomendations and it runs, handles and rides like a dream. I'm coming off a Ninja 1000R that was piped/jetted/advanced/geared down slightly, and I've ridden my buddy's 95 1100, but they both also felt a little slow to me. The Busa feels slower sometimes...then faster others. I'm not sure if the weather/altitude is affecting it, or maybe I'm just used to loud, top end screamers and the Busa's taller gearing, flatter powerband, and quiet pipes are making it seem slower than it is. Any and all feedback's appreciated

Might be a good idea if you wait until you have actually seen / felt how quick a bike is , before you comment on how fast it isn't.

see you at the top of the tacho.....

Josh.

That's the feeling to expect! The busa is just that smooth......... The power sneeks up on you and you hardly realize your traveling at mach one! Other bikes make you feel like everything is coming apart.

..ok, here goes..

tha busa is NOT your "early reflection" everyday commuter, nor the racing supergun that you see on track.. You WILL experience the busa power when you are on or two up, doing A LONG trip and you need to go fast, very soon.. Then, you will see the tacho gathering all the mph you can possibly imagine!

She is the FASTEST bike around, but it is true that sometimes it doesn't feel that way. It all depends on road conditions (traffic) and/or subjective ways of driving - ie I rode the Ducati 749 on the track, and I made 5 sec faster lap than with the busa THE FIRST TIME I RODE THE DUC! Does that qualify as "faster bike"? absolutely not! It is a track weapon - and that's that.

Ok, I admit it - on mountain roads I would like it a bit shorter and more "flammant", but hey, I can live with that!..

After riding litterally all there is, I 've come to the conclusion that the busa is the overall weapon, for the 95% of the needs of the 95% of the "real" motorcycle people.

If you have different needs, you know what to do..
smile.gif

But give it time.. I think it's not even broke-in yet..

BS,

Sounds like you are not using the throttle. Maybe some practice would help.
laugh.gif

Don't be skeered, go ahead and twist that thing like you mean it. I know it's intimidating, but go ahead and do a quick roll-on all the way to the stop from about 40 in first till the end of 6th gear, it's nothing to be afraid of, just hold on. The only way a Busa isn't going to be tickling your SR's the whole time is if your not giving it gas. Even at 5k' it's super smooth so you may be looking for a "Peak" or some BS "Powerband" but it's all powerband. So try turning the throttle to the stop, before making decisions, or posts... If it ain't the fastest, hardest pulling machine you've ever ridden? Either your bike is broke, your towing a trailer, or your not using the throttle, be certain you get it to FWO...

---OR---

STFU, all the Busa Critics/Skeptics love to read about "How fast the Busa Isn't" ... nice work. Sounds like you should have maybe stayed with ole' Team Green, they'll love to hear this shid.

Rev is right. Mine is more than fast enough for me and has way more to give than I will ever ask for. And, it's not like I have never been around high performance machines before including jets and attack helo's at ten feet above the ground screamin past cows.

Ditto that...
Ride safe...

bounce it off 10,500 in all gears a few hundred times and get back to me
smile.gif

I came from a Ninja 1000r myself with similar mods and I remember thinking that exact same thing for a breif while.  Once I got it past break in, and really started using it, I find ALL roads too small!  You will to. My busa [or me] is getting FASTER with age.

Gotta agree here.

I have some seriously fast machines in the garage, and the Busa puts me in "pucker mode" every time I twist the throttle to the stop in the appropriate gear.

You open that sucker up at 4500-5000 rpm in first gear and she'll get you undivided attention in a big hurry. The power will come on relatively gradually, the front wheel will not loft immediatly. It's like you twist your wrist and the bike says:

"You sure about this? Here's a taste..."

It spins to 5500, 6000, 6500 nd then *BOOM* up comes the front wheel and it's on. This happens so fast that you really have no time to get a real feeling of what is happening if you get back off the throttle at 8000 rpm. If you do this in any gear other than first, you're not using the bike to it's full potential... nobody would start a highway roll from 5000 rpm, you'd downshift to get the bike at around 8000 and let it pull up to the next gear. Snap the throttle at 8000 rpm in first and you're going to be staring at the sky, right quickly.

I've hit my rev limiter a few times in first on a roll-on just because things happen so darned quickly.

Snap.
Tire comes up.
'Lay off it to get it back down....'
Whirrr... whirrr... whirrr...
'Drat, I'm bouncing off the limiter...'
shift to second...
'That was a quick spin through second...'
shift to third...
'Holy buckets, I'm well over 100 mph now... Gee whiz, I need to get back under the fairing.'
Shift to fourth...
***BANG***
'Ooops, forgot to put my faceshield down, wind did it for me...'

Hmmmm.

I agree with everything they all said.

Want more. go to yer favorite twistie road. Make sure it really twistie. Ride the busa, shifting so it stays in the 7-10k rpm range through the twisties.

If you don't shid yer pants, you must have gotten an epoxy enema somewhere.

NINJA!   SHHHH!  YOU know we are not supposed to reveal the location of that button until they prove themselves worthy of the 5K mile club and have performed the proper worship rights!

He was kidding about the green button... cuz he has a green bike.... see? get it?  yeah.  yeah that.

well if you're disapointed

don't get a x-10 or r-1 cuz you'll be VERY disapointed

specially, like someone said, with a passenger.

getting it to 8000 don't mean shid

it's at the rate you get there and beyond

I do not see what the problem is, you said you walked away from your buddys 1100, what did you expect, to run away from it. You only used 3/4 throttle, try giving it full throttle, if that is still not enough for you then buy a turbo or nitrous.

Sure seems like there have been a lot of new "supposed" busa riders on this board slamming Busa's

To me, anyone with under 100 posts slamming a Busa or saying they are disappointed just seems to be a troll to me.

Just seems like these people are trying to start crap.. It just doesn’t make any sense why you would have a Busa and then criticize it.. just don’t fit

And then the guy doesn’t post again, like all the others

I mean, has anyone seen any more posts from that gay bike rider who doesn’t have a bike? Came on here, posted what would be noticeable a controversial post, a bunch of stuff flies and you only had a few more posts from the guy.

I will soon be so desensitized I wont even be posting this troll warning lol

All I can say is that you probably are not riding to it's maximum potential. If you never broke 8k all day you must be babying the thing because when you lay into it you blow right past 8K into the limiter. Why don't you come back and post after you've ridin a twisty and kept it over 6K the whole time.

Thrasher yer so intollerant.

Maybe this guy is a gay bike rider that met love-muffin. Maybe that's why he has an epoxy enema, just for such occasions.

Is that any reason to call him (her?) a liar.

Now let's try to be nice to all the pee-pee touching faggots out there. OK?
