Aftermarket camshafts any good?

Well, I guess the title says it all...

I was wondering if anyone has opinions on the aftermarket cams out there. Anyone had aftermarket cams installed? Was there a noticeable increase in HP/Torque? Were they tunable by the PCIII, or are there maps out there for performance cams? Do you think it's a worthy mod?

And along the same note, which ones are out there and which are the good ones, which are the bad ones?

I had the Megacycle 385 cams installed on a stock engine and was very happy with them. BDE exhaust and cams I produced 175.5 HP and 99.3 of Torque.

Bigbore or stock...?
Stock 1299cc.

Planning on exhaust, air filter, pcIII, etc. in the future.  Curious if adding this mod to the list is worth it.  Ones i found are schnitz (sp?) and yoshimura.  Any others out there better?

I've also heard of putting a stock intake cam on the exhaust side...any thoughts on that??

I say they are a worth while investment give ya a good start and there is one things when you do go big bore they will help ya a bit more there also kinda like getting your cake and eating it too also

Web Cams, its always good to have a cam shaft to reflect the changes you've made,nitrous,boost,etc....

I have the BDE exhaust cam with APE adjustable sprockets. It was worth the money for me and i just couldn't make myself spend the extra on a complete drop in set for just a couple more HP. You will need to get them degreed in and i would recommend a custom map either way you decide to go.
