Akra or brock street smart ?

I think all of you have way to much money to burn

Ever divide the amount of money you spent by the number of HP you gained

Shocking!

But, a well tuned exhaust does sound great and looks tons better than the OEM. I'm even guilty myself. I have a set of Akrapovic Carbon Fiber Cans on mine.

But I stole em

Keep up the good work Jinks, I do enjoy your posts! I regard you as among the most knowledgeable gents on here when it comes to busa mods.

Well guys I will have to agree with Jinkster on this one. Now I am not saying it because I am biased for having the akrapovic race system on my bike. I am simply talking about my hands on feel of this exhaust. When i took the bike out for it's first ride I was SHOCKED at the difference. My low end feels about the exact same but the midrange seems to pick up at about 4500rpm's strong now and good god when it launches you best hang on. The fit was perfect and the finish was awesome. I am totally satisfied with my setup and just like jinks said I would not buy the evo again if I had the chance. The only difference I really saw between the two systems was better weight savings on the EVO and that seemed about it. Both systems were hydroformed and had conical tubing. The EVO on Akro's website only was showing 1 decibel louder as well. So sound and performance wise there just didn't seem to be enough difference between the two to justify the extra $$$ for me. The difference between the two setups paid for my gauges to be done and thensome. But the Akro seemed to fit incredibly well.

I'm not going to read all these posts. If that extra 2hp is all that you are concerned with fine. Loose 10lbs and that 2 hp doesn't mean crap.

Brock pipes are not all Hindle. They are partial Hindle headers and the can. Brocks shop custom makes the rest of the pipe. They are the most Busa specific pipes made. The Gen IIIs are probably the most free flowing, stock mounting pipe made. They are made for stock and big bores. These are custom off the shelf products. I don't know what else to call it.

You are going to be hard pressed to beat Brocks customer service. Ivan, Charles and the others are great guys with good customer service. But Brock [/u]makes[/u] the pipes, and stands behind them 100%.

I know Akra is a great exhaust, but I do know the BDE Hindle makes great power....Lee at Lee's Performance tuned my bike last week and all it has on it is Brocks Gen III, air box mod, and PAIR mod and removal
and Lee got 173.4 hp and 104 tq.

made 217 hp from akr. race
Good power there . Just pump or race gas .... no exotic fuel ?

Since were talking exhaust , I was kinda surprised when I found out that the Micron for the Busa has no step , no taper and no Serpent design . Did see where an engine make 12 more hp over stock with a Micron on it .

Back to the Akro . Before they had the Evolution , they further tuned the pipe buy using a conical muffler core . Entrance was like 10mm or so larger than exit .

Do they still do that with the Race exhaust ? Same for the Evolution ?
pump

I think both pipes will make good power and will reduce weight , its come down to which one fits better,if I spend 1000.00 to 1300.00 plus a power commander and map ,I would not like burned plastics ,bent oil cooler lines ,ect ect
Feedback on fit please ......

Mark

Akr, has one of the best fit and finish bar none. Had to use exhaust pads on the fairings for my brock not for the Akr. The Akr race is only $875
