I've got 97 more miles to reach 100000. Still stockwheelbase and ran high 8's at Rockingham,NC in November '07.

I've had several different engine configurations on it mostly 1397s. I got to Daytona and ride to Myrtle Beach Bike Week every year since 2001, never had one to let me down. I did have to put a 2nd gear in the original motor after 5 months back in 2000, now I undercut the tranny on any one I build. I've actually got someone wanting to buy this one after Daytona, so I'll have an '07 engine on it then - the one on now is an '05.

I think what everyone wants to know is how many engines have you had in it or how many times it was pulled from the frame??

nonetheless,quite an acheivement!!

Yes I would love to know waht the most miles you have put on one of the configurations you have done. And how many miles does the person with the most have on their busa, any idea?

As I recall Tim (Pashnit) had 65000+ miles on his current ride (03??). Perhaps he could chime in?

Wow, that is truly awesome. I've always gave major credit to guys like you and the iron butt riders. I personally know one guy that rode an old triumph to Alaska and back and he's over 350lbs. I can't imagine being on a bike that long!

Holy smokes! That's quite the accomplishment I would think. And it bodes well for the rest of us owners who're looking forward to hit that milestone one day. Make sure you post that magic pic!

The one on it now has 28000 and I tore it down to check it out even though compression numbers were still very good. It's an '05 enginerod bearings looked new (replaced them anyway) One of the crank bearings was shiny ( I replaced all of them )and checked the crank for scouring- it was good. I put new rings back in it and new valve stem seals in the head (valves looked good) a little build up from oxygenated fuel (cleaned up) and replaced the shift forks ( normal wear) no shifting problems. Replaced the cam chain and checked cam timing and valve clearances - ALL GOOD, back together and ready to ride.
