Do you use the droid? If so which one? When you tethered could you watch things on you tube and so on? I have a MacBook if it matters. I was talking with Verizon yesterday and they were checking my speed with my Black Berry 9530 and was told all I have is about the same as dial up. I have been with Verizon for about 20 years now and when I got my phone I was promised that I could do this (Watch Vids while teathering). It takes forever for me to watch a 2 min vid and it sucks. I told them that I was holding up my end of the contract of paying 160 bucks a month and I was not getting what I was promised. They pretty much said to bad and that they would give me a break on an Android 2 if I wanted it. I have only had my phone for 7 months and have complained the whole time about it with no results. I told them that I was going to buy out of my contract as soon as I found something that would work for me and that they could stick it. So now I am looking for a good phone and a good company. Any ideas?
I have the Samsung Epic.. and it is an absolute BEAST of a phone. It does everything. You can tether it, or use it as a wireless hotspot for up to 5 devices. With the screen as nice as it is, you won't even need to bother watching those vids on something other than the phone though.
Plan is 70 bucks a month for unlimited data.
Reasonable power consumption. (I've played music on it for 6+ hours straight as long as the screen is off I'm still way over half battery)
Easy to use well laid out interface.
Amazing AMOLED screen.
4G speeds where available.
Full browser, using full versions of the site is often soo much better than mobile versions.
Its fast fast fast fast. It's like the Hayabusa of smart phones.
Slide out, or virtual keyboard.
Decent camera (though not as nice as the EVO's) will take awesome panorama shots.
I don't think I can be happier with it, and since the newness hasn't wore off yet, I don't think my girlfriend could be unhappier with it, since I can't put it down. haha
