On the way home from work today, I saw a brand new R6 with temp tags flat on its side in an intersection. The rider appeared to have already been placed in the ambulance. (Being there was an ambulance and the rider was no where to be seen.)
I took careful observation of the bikes condition and I have to say that this one appears to probably have been the riders fault. There didn't appear to be any other car involved in the accident as the bike only had damage from where it was laying down and no where else. (front/rear) I figure this one was probably due to lack of experience because of the temp tags and the condition of the bike. The bike was oddly facing oncoming traffic in the intersection. See diagram below, X marks the spot of the bike on its side. Notice it is inline with oncoming traffic.

Feel sorry for the owner... probably his first sportbike and now that he wrecked it... I bet he/she won't be able to afford the insurance on it again...
New riders, do yourself a favor and work into the bike. It is much harder to ride a bike then it is to drive a car and I bet this rider was just not riding within his limits even if those limits were a probably low as it was...
drivers safety course is also advised... For those of you that are buying bikes for the first time, especially sportbikes, take a safety course... No one wants to hear about your dumbass in the graveyard after the fact because you were too stupid to get training on your new toy...
