Anyone hit 150+ on the freeway?

I have a secret road not even on the maps.  2 lanes in 2 lanes out 7 miles long.  I only hit 202mph/gps today doing some tuning.  It did not change my gps which was maxed at 206mph/gps as the high.
We're not worthy, we're not worthy, etc. Seriously NE, I will not feel satisfied until I see a 200+ on the GPS. Should be possible after the redynomap and 2nd stage boost.

ALL OTHERS: Try using a GPS, you may be surprised how fast you were REALLY going.... or depressed rather....

M joe,
checked out your sig,
I was single dad w/3 rr's for 7 years, married now, Still cleaning parts in the sink! :super:

Yeah, I get chewed out for it, but unitl I pop for a parts washer...

I've tried to limit it to air filters. :)

Revlis.....just watched one of the nickslick and crazytrain videos...how the heck do those guys do that stuff.  180+ with traffic and other bikes around?  How do they do sharp turns at 70mph?  Amazing skills,  I can't even do a tollway on-ramp at 50 mph yet...to freaking scared still and my top end is only 120...do these folks learn these skills at tracks or do they just ride twisties all day long and are good at it?
Actually it is not as difficult as you may think... It's really quite simple.  Lower your gearing for more acceleration, and all of the sudden especially if it is altered significantly, 80MPH reads as 120, 120 reads as 160...Not all that hard...   Just a theory mind you...But I bet I am close to a dark secret here...

Shhh don't tell no one...But MikeyUSF paced a school bus one day going about 110... OK actually it was going about 65...Altered gearing does cool things in videos.

Still fast as hell though.... And much respect to Nickslick...though he doesn't respond to anything.  Kick ass video's though...   And as I mentioned, Just a theory of mine...
I have nothing to back it up what so ever, Just watched the landscape in the videos...
ahem.

the bike in the crazytrain is dead stock as far as gear, tires, and speedometer.

we do ride twisties quite often, and in that particular video, out in the desert where its wide open.

normal speedo correction aside, those numbers are real.

171mph for me (real speed reading). I reached it 3 or 4 times on highways with clear traffic. It was the top speed before installed the TRE, but with the TRE I didn't had the guts yet to try my luck...
Usually i reach top speeds of 150 when I drive on good highways. Out of highways I DON'T drive above 100mph and it only happens on empty roads away from cities.

Yeah I figured maybe this would get a response...

Sweet video's BTW Nick. You need to put together about 60 minutes of these bad boys with some killer music like you have been doing and get a DVD out on the shelves. I think people would buy them, I figure folks are getting a little tired of the same old stunt video's. Give them something a little different to look at.

And, if the speedo is accurate as you say, then I am trully not worthy bro, that is some sick speeds...

Had a gps mounted to mine during a short trip (stock busa) and showed indicated 74mph with gps reading of 70, 100mph indicated with gps showing 92. Apparently the speedo's inaccuracy increases with speed. My guess is that 150 indicated is actually around 135. Yellow box will calibrate the speedo, but does not correct for speedo's inaccuracy as speed increases.

Ouch! Rev got called on his accusations...   I was waitin' on this. Now, Rev, if you ain't skurd, why don't ya head out to Cali and try to keep up with NickSlick in them twisties and tell us how fast he's runnin'? :super: Till he runs outta sight, that is...

Never!

Hey Doc, Haven't you been told to stop bringing your GPS on board the plane when traveling yet?:super:

Kidding kidding...
Revless, save up and get a Turbow....  j/k
Hell No!!! I have a raised eyebrow in the general direction of anyone who feels a Turbo is a reasonable modification on a Busa. :super: :tounge:

I mean I twist the Throttle pretty hard a lot when I ride, and I cannot come up with a single sober reason to want more power...So I think this means that while I am a fairly serious motorcyclist, I am only a half Assed Motorhead...

Nothing but respect for you guys out there though riding these turbo beasties, I would love to come and see em' and hear them up close like, but for me I am still happy as it comes out of the box...

Am I skeered of a Turbo, well no, I mean it is still a bike with two wheels and a throttle, do I think a Turbo would make me go faster than I allready have though? NO, them outer limits up there past 180 are plenty spooky on a N\A ride, let alone under pressure.

But the Acceleration is something I would maybe like to try out once or twice... :super:

Let me know if you find that titanium chainmail suit for sale somewhere.
They are ou there, Divers call em' shark suits...   Problem is trying to get it to work out on the road...and uh they are a bit pricey...

Would make for a freakin awesome crash in the dark though...huge shower of bright sparks sliding down the road...

sounds like it would get awful HOT in there!!

Yeah Oracle, you prolly have a valid point. Your talking about heat generated from sliding down the road right? You would have to have a decent liner in the suite that for sure. Though Titanium doesn't conduct heat very well so it may not be too bad... Figure I just need a $5-6K to find out...

I'd be willing to test it too. I am sure RSD would, and prolly MSF!

I say we get all of the boyz together and start doing slide tests!

We could tie ourselves to the back of your truck and just drag ourselves.

hehe.

I like it.

pffffth!   :P   Not even a busa beats the rush of skydiving.  It's not as fast but EVERYTHING is minimized after that.
Personally, I think skydiving is kinda boring after that initial step.

If you want a rush, try untying your harness from the rope 90 feet above the ground because it is caught in a nasty crack. Then, free-solo downclimb to save your ass. Now that is a RUSH! I was shaking so bad, I couldn't untie my shoes for like five minutes! It was SCHWEET! So, I went again!

Yeah I had a feeling I'd get called on that.     Like I mentioned it was just a theory. No basis...

I'm not scared, I would love to head out there and show Nickslick my taillights all day...  No Sweat.  He is damn fast but I could easilly show him my license plate...

Yeah in his garage maybe...

Rev-"See this is my tail light, it's Red"
Nick- "Um....thats not really what I meant."
Rev- "Well looky here this is my license plate."
Nick- "Uh Dude?"
Rev-"Well, we have all day so, wanna look at my fender?"
Nick- "Dude!"
Rev- "Yeah and you see right here, this is where my reflectors used t..."
Nick- "DUDE!"
Rev- "Huh"
Nick- "You going to ride this thing? You said you could show me your taillights all day..."
Rev-"Well if you wanted to see more of the tailight just say so...Here you go... I have all day."
Nick- "Man you need Help..."
Rev-  (Looking confused)
Nick- "Get out man...just get out..."
Rev- "but I was.."
Nick- "OUT FREAK!"
Rev- "I'm going...."(Head Hung low...Shuffling feet)

Or something like that...     Yeah Nick and Company are definitely fast, I don't want any of that.  Though I would like to go out there and just watch and follow, try to keep up and learn some...

We used to to this behind the UPS truck when we were kids.  We called it skitching.  Hang on the the grab rail, crouch down and lean back on your heels.
What Fun! :tounge:
