I'll update this with my experience with the BT023 on the rear in case anyone is interested. I ran into cord in the center on the rear at 4725 miles and the front 016 is pretty much shot too. The deapest tread I have remaining on the tire is only 3/32 deep so it was well used from side to side as well. I have been very pleased with the 023's grip and feel in 100+ heat as well as rain. For comparison purposes, I went through 2 rear 016 tires in less than 4000 miles with the same style of riding. I have no roads within 100 miles of my house that the 023 can't handle at a very brisk pace.
