Hadn't heard Suzuki having chronic frame breakage..All the companies are having similar problems including Suzuki they make all these bikes faster by making them lighter then the frame cant handle the abuse of wheelies and stopie wheelies and coming down hard
+1I hadnt heard it run8, man that sux. I would wish that onn anyone.
The wheels for the zooks are made by the same company that makes Kawi, Honda and Yam wheels .. You can't blame Kawi for that ..Didn't the ZX10 have an issue with the front wheel after it's launch?I guess I will ALWAYS be a loyal Suzuki purchaser.
I know you were not bashing the zx14 ..It's good that you posted it , not all zx14 owners know of this problem .. If there is a problem ...But everyone should know about this and check their bike before they ride...Would love to have one myself. Great post.
I posted more of a "saftey issues" and not a 14 bashing thread.

Well said!Seeing that i own a 06 zx14 i have been keeping a close eye on this frame problem ..What i have seen is only two people have had this problem .( Proven with Photos).. One stated that he found the problem after pulling his motor to do a big bore kit .. The other said he was just riding along and the frame broke ...Having pulled 3 zx14 motors my self i know why the frame Breaks ..The two rear motor mount bolts use a spacer that screws in and out of the engine block , this spacer is used to set the preload to 16 inch pounds then you tighten the motor mount bolt to spec ...If you try to remove the bolt by turning it counter clockwise it spreads the frame and guess what you bust the frame.. The correct way to remove the engine mount bolts are as followed > Remove the NUT first while NOT letting the bolt turn ..Then screw the bolt IN to remove the frame preload ... Then you can remove the bolt by just pulling it out without turning it ... People screw **** up all the time and then try to blame it on bike maker... Both these bike owners tried to blame Kawi and get it covered under warranty...
Like it or not the zx14 is one of the best bikes out there and have no suffered any major problems .. My own zx14 has made over 700 passes down the 1/4 mile and more than a few times it has been slammed to the ground from wheelies without a single problem..
The zx14 has had one recall and that was on the very first 06s where the bolts that hold the tip over sensor bolts ( may ) not be torq to spec ..
Now lets look at the first Busas .. Recalled twice for cam chain adjustor problems .. The busa had problems like Starter kicking back and breaking the cases ..Over heating , jumping out of second gear ..Rear sub frame breaking ..
Now lets look at the new 08 Busa ...If you want to drag race it first thing you need is Brocks clutch mod... The brakes are still crap and if you want it to stop like a zx14 get ready to spend some money ..The bike still has the nasty vibrations in the pegs and handle bars like the old Busa did, not as bad as the older busa but still has vibs at 4000 to 5000 rpms ..Just look at your foot pegs and you will see a big heavy weight bolted to the bottom of the pegs ...That weight is to kill the vibrations just like your rubber mounted handle bars ...This items are not needed on the zx14..
I'm not saying the Busa is a bad bike , i have owned two busas and i loved both of them and if Zooky had really stepped up and made an all new 08 Busa and not just made some patches to the old Busa i would have been in line to buy one ...I love my 06 zx14 and see no reason to up grade to a new bike right now because there is nothing out there that is better than what i have now ..
Somehow I figured by your comment that you owned a Kawi. I ain't mad at cha... but it is what it is.The wheels for the zooks are made by the same company that makes Kawi, Honda and Yam wheels .. You can't blame Kawi for that ..Didn't the ZX10 have an issue with the front wheel after it's launch?I guess I will ALWAYS be a loyal Suzuki purchaser.
There you go again. The guy turns mid 8's on his bike - I think he's pretty "secure" with his setup.Man just get a grip and stop all the thrashing. You're getting too defensive behind all this stuff. You bought your 14 because you like it right? So stand behind and feel secure about your purchase.
Well there are a few zx14 owners on this Busa site that don't go to the zx14 web sites to get that info ...That little bit of info on removing the engine may save one of them from busting a frame ...There you go again.
