AR enthusiasts......What do you think of DPMS lowers?

I just went to it and it working fine for me! I bought my RPK and two Mosin Nagant Hex 91/30 rifles from JG sales. I have not brought anything form Classicarms yet. I am looking at a Nagant revolver for my pistol collection and then Saiga 12 and then AK 74 probably either Arsenal Russian or Bulgarian. I still have to get that Aimpoint for my AR which is in the distant future unless I get some luck from some where.

Another suggestion is Del-Ton. They are out of NC. Actually got to go down to their shop and they built me an upper while I waited. Super nice people there. I had previously bought one of their lowers at a gun show. No complaints and they seem to have some pretty decent prices on their website. Just another option.

Any body on here wants to buy a HK SEF lower receiver for MP5/40/10 or 53/33? It has been clipped and pinned and it has the finger grooves. There is no fire control group in it. I was starting a HK MP5 SBR build but dropped the project for the AR SBR build. PM me for info and offers.

I have the Bushmaster Carbon 15 with a aluminum Bushmaster lower. Stainless fluted 16' barrel, two stage trigger, extended charging handle, dual safety switchs, Zeiss z-point optic, AN-PVS-4 Gen 2.5 Night vision scope with dragon sites, and a 2 two 24 power day scope. All optics are mounted on quick throw A.R.M.S mounts except for the Zeiss Z-Point which directly mounts to the flattop receiver. All rifle parts are bushmaster manufactured.

ohhhhhh the choices... might just have to make the jump soon

just talked to gary at spikes tactical...very helpfull very freindly

lets keep this up as building weapons seems like a good winter project

Depending on how special of a AR15 you want, the prices are starting to drop some and are getting closer to what they were last year! The Bushmaster AR15 was running along mid $600s or so! I have longed for a HK MP5 or HK53 and was starting to do a build, but swiftly change to the AR because as I was estimating the cost it ran well over $3,000 with not optics or other special items such as collapse stock. The parts kits are from 1,500 to $2k. Then you have to get receiver and in some cases barrel along with a good builder to assemble $$$. The only option is buying a Vector V53 pistol or rifle. I was interested until Vector Arms owner was caught selling banned Chinese ammo to Gov for contract..

a bushmaster ar for 600???? i wanna see that website...sure it wasnt a 22lr caliber?

This was before the big boom of 2009! Yeah, they were that cheap! AKs were in the $200 to $300 range and this came about right after the 94' ban was over in 04', I thing it was. I remember when I first saw a Saiga 12 and I thought it was the ugliest thing ever and it was under $300 back then. You can't find one under $500 now. I have a buddy that bought a Bushmaster for about $650 and sold it for $1k right after the election. It is a shame the gun and ammo market followed the housing market over night!

You can get this DPMS AR for $675 at the site below right now!

ok pulled the trigger and ordered a spikes tactical stripped lower for only 89. i am frustrated though... if i purchase upper kits and lower kits and all...its all more expensive than a whole rifle kit from ar parts. i cant pay 520 for the whole rifle kit i want (a3 upper with 20 inch barrel n free float handguard with 4 rails and gas block and M4 adjustable buttstock) but due to i may have to piece it one at a time i found a SWEET deal for lower assembly kit (dpms) for only 48 bucks!!!!! christmas sale from bravo company. here is the link
AR-15 Lower Parts Kit

I did the lower at about $450 complete with sopmod stock all LMT. I did the 10.5 LMT complete upper for let's say too much! They are $675 now. The A.R.M.S LP rear flip sight was about $120. I thought about the rail system but I don't want to have something that will have me spending more than I all ready have. You are building pretty much from scratch. That will take some patience and you have all winter. One nice thing about it though is you can do your build with all the features you want and make it fit you. Good Luck!

i can buy the whole thing the way i want it for only 520 from ar parts. but if i try to mimick what they are giving me for that 520 ill be spending 800 plus

You have to look at all the parts because there are some differences when you look at it in detail. For instance a rifle with a chrome lined barrel with have a higher cost vs one with out. The difference is the chrome lined barrel should have a longer life but the trade off is the none chrome lined barrels usually have better accuracy. I noticed this with ak47 variants. There are different thickness materials, chrome lined and none chrome lined barrels, folding stocks and none folding stocks, threaded barrels and none threaded and so on.

i'm gonna pull trigger soon on a stripped lower from spikes. and order a complete rifle kit from model1sales.com, EVERYTHING including threaded muzzle & extra heavy barrel for $1200

What is it about a chrome lined barrel that decreases accuracy?
