I just put the Akropovic system with the Hex can on my GSXR1000 and it's one of the best quality systems i've seen yet. I had a Hindle, Micron, Scorpion, and TwoBros -it tops them all by far in quality.
It's not just the exhaust system.
Why does Suzuki use Yosh on ALL of their race bikes? Cause they want flat spots and glitches??
It's all about the dyno and mapping. Let's say you buy a full Akro system and a power commander with a pre-programmed map. Your 06 Busa is different than your buddies 06 Busa, not to the eye, but to the dyno.
Buy the system that you want and spend the real money on your dyno.
2006 Hayabusa
Small air box mod (short stacks across the board)
NGK CR9EIX Plugs
Pipercross RACE filter
Block-off plates
Modified EVO (shorter carbon cannister)
HPC Custom Map
See right now i have the yoshi rs3 bolt ons on my bike but no power commander or bmc race air filter either.Soon as i put the pipes on i have noticed the bike sounds very off at idle and throttle response is VERY abrupt. From what ive seen the best results are with a custom dynotuned map and a bmc race air filter. Before i do all that i might as well get a full system right? I can sell the rs3s on ebay later on and get some of my money back
This is with slip-ons! The small air box mod with the stock air filter, marble mod, and a TRE for good measure. The dyno tune was the absolute KEY! And I think I got lucky with the Busa. the funny thing is there was a guy buying a busa the same day as me and he wanted my bike because of the color but I had already given the dealer $200.00 for the Black and Grey. He did similar mods with another brand of slip-ons and his bike dyno tuned only made 153.87rwhp. All bikes are somewhat different.
