As our troops and military get ready for a big push in AFG I felt it was time to remember the fallen.
To anyone who is serving, has served, knows someone who is or does or has made the ultimate sacrifice by giving themselves or a loved one for us .

Thank you.
You are not forgotten and never will be...

Some may know some may not but there is a special section in Arlington just for those who have fallen in the two most recent wars going on as well as events related.

Section 60

Section 60, at Arlington National Cemetery, is where most of the fallen from the Iraq and Afghan wars are buried.

Larry Downing, a Reuters senior staff photographer assigned to the White House, visited Section 60 on Memorial Day weekend with his wife to show her what a "living cemetery" looks like.

That's when he first saw Laura Youngblood.

The young widow, shown above, was lying on her back in the grass touching the gravestone of her late husband, Travis.
The U.S. Navy medic died in 2005 from wounds suffered in combat in Iraq.

At the time, Laura was pregnant with their second child.

After some moments beside the grave, she stood up, gently kissed the top of the marble and said, "See you tomorrow, honey." And then left.

It was a scene that overwhelmed the veteran news photographer.

"I decided to devote the next few months visiting the section and producing an honest, heartfelt story about the pain of those left behind," says Downing.

We are posting a few photographs here from that project.

"A visit to Arlington Cemetery," he says, "should be required for every tourist visiting Washington."
