Backed over Busa No. 2

While not as bad as Atlanta Ga. Law Dog, I had a women back into my red Y2K Busa this morning. Came out from my office at lunch and judging by the hole the kickstand dug into the concrete, it was shoved back 3 feet. Had a brake disk lock on, the forks locked to the left, scorpio alarm on and in gear. After the first 6 inches the front end was history. Totaled the fender and twisted the forks such that it is unrideable.

Looked around the parking lot for the guilty party, could find one and was about to chalk it up to a hit and run then I remembered the bank in my office building has cameras all over the place. So I went in and asked to see the morning footage, apparently the women that hit me saw the crowd watching the video and figured she better fess up and did. "oh are you the motorcycle owner whose bike I BUMPED this morning, I was going to tell you but did not know who owned it" Yeah right, my !#*, you were going to tell me, you got insurance?

Fortunately she does and has Progressive and a claims adjuster is going to look at it tomorrow.

Any of you fellow Busa riders been through a frame alignment inspection? Fear it was enough force that there may be damage I can't see.

In advance, thanks.

Hammerfest,

That hurt to read. JohnnyCheese may be able to guide you on that frame alignment inspection. Hope you get it all sorted out. Wasn't she a trip?

Hammerfest, Welcome to the Insurance adjusters group, sorry for the death in the family. Better take off your fairings and look for frame damage, or scratches to frame. To have it totaled requires 80% damage. Im still waiting on State Farm to get off their cans for my new bike to be enroute. My accident occured approx 2 weeks ago, but yours having been caught on tape will help you out tremendously. Good luck, hope its totaled for ya or else you will be in parts backordered hell.

That SUCKS! I hope it's totaled, and settled fast.

P.S. Shoot the _itch! Good thing big-brother got her on tape.

Hey, at least you made me laugh...
She "BUMPED" your bike?
Is she Bertha Butt, like 5 feet tall, 350 lbs.?
When she gives it a BUMP, the earth moves.
Wonder if she ever thought about looking.

Sorry to hear the bad news.

Frame bent REPLACE frame. sorry about this It is a bummer.I wish you the best of luck in what ever the out come.
I would not try straightening the frame it is a alum.alloy I priced a frame once it was not as much as I thought it would be ,neither was a head assy.
Good luck

Here's a little tip for you guys in case you haven't learned yet: DO NOT park anywhere NEAR cages unless you can help it!!! :)

Man that truly sucks. Good thing you parked in a camera surveyed section. She could've left a note on the bike with her contact info. Good thing she - - had - - to come up. I hope your bike was totalled... and hopefully you'll be in a new Busa soon.

Just leaving her "contact info" isn't all that great either. If they just leave info on their own, their hiding something, such as bad license, or worse for you, no insurance. And many will later turn on you and refuse to help settle, leaving you to prove you both were parties to an accident.
Get an accident report to protect your interests, and the insurance company will probably want one, anyway.
If she knew she hit the bike, she should have called the police, and not did a hit-and-run, and left it up to them to find out whose bike it is. That's what she has insurance for.

I am feeling, living your pain. being rammed in a parking lot. first my sports car. now my bike. aaaaaaaagggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
whats up with this parts back order. havent ordered yet. how long for plastic?
