We need less government not more. No thanks on the National Healthcare, oh I mean Zar. Isn't that what we're getting here. A bunch of Zars that don't have to report to Congress. Robert Byrd is a Dem and he's not happy.
think about the brothers right here on this site that are having tough times. Are you saying they are not working hard enough? Are they just lazy is that what it is? I say no and you are kidding yourself if you think otherwise. What about the men and women in the armed forces they will never make as much as an actor I guess that actor just works harder right? How about the good teachers out there. Hey Busa Jules I bet you bust your butt everyday trying to make a difference, your are pulling six figures, right?
Your notion that simply working harder earns you more money is flawed my friend.

recession or not some of the hardest workers: teachers, military members, firemen, nurses will never make what pampered actor, or wall street executive, or professional athlete make. Yet we need good teachers, strong soldiers, brave friemen and skilled nurses more than we will ever need actors or athletes.

You can't compare apple to potatoes. Do you have any idea the cost of success as an actor or musician? They can't even leave home without every little thing they do ending up in the news or tabloids. Everything they do is criticized by the public as well. The sacrifice basic freedom and rights for that success.
What cost did you pay for your current level of success? The cost will almost always reflect the level of success.
If you don't like where you're at, specialize in something that is needed and get really good at it. The hard work will payoff.
very good point. They (most cases) sacrifice alot to get to where they are at. If the reward wasnt so great than not many would do it.

this is very true. but they dont do it to be rich. its what they always wanted to do. I agree pro athletes make too much money as do actors but the tax raises arent targeting them. maybe the tax raises should be for those making over a million a yr. there are too many small co. out there making 250k a yr. that still need every penny they EARN.
I do agree with your sentements that nurses, first responders, and teachers are underpaid. But this administration's efforts are not for them.
for them its sacrifice AND hard work. AND ALOT of luck They devote their entire life trying to get there and VERY few get even close. I'm speaking of the sacrifice BEFORE they get "discovered". I dont feel a bit sorry for them afterwards. They knew what they were getting into.Well then is it about sacrafice or hard work? At any rate most of what you see in the tabloids is orchastrated by the celebraties themselves. They don't sacrafice anything they bring it on for publicity for the most part.

So what? The point is not whether or not they do it to be rich it is whether or not you get rich by working hard as some will have you believe? Maybe it is not hard work if you got into it because it was something you cared about. Should these great people be penalized because they are doing something the enjoy? What incentive do you have to get the best and brightest into these professions? I'm honestly not sure what you mean here. It sounds like your making my point.

The cost will almost always equal the level of success? Tell that to a wounded soldier.

Because it was before they were "discovered" when they were doing jobs the rest of us do everyday, right?

I have to deal with a screwed up back for the rest of my life. I got that gift from the Army. Went I got out I decided to get into a better career. I got into computers and paid the cost of working 40 hours a week and going to school 20 hours a week for two years. I constantly hear people complaining about working part time and school 10 hours a week.
Most people that are hard workers will never succeed because they are not willing, or do not know, to do the things that successful people do. You should do a little reading from Andrew Carnegie. Set a goal. Figure out what the steps toward it are. Deal with the challenges that are thrown at you as you move forward.
A little hint: If you're not being challenged, you're not moving toward success.
I havent seen the avg. guy get the shaft. I've seen the harder you work the more you get and farther ahead you get. You get out of something equal to what you put in. Now they are encouraging people to not aspire to be greater or get ahead but rather work less and wait for hand outs.
The people that are going to be doing the "hiring" are the people he's trying to hurt. More tax on people making over 250k also includes small businesses. And that is hardly rich.
