Barber Motorsports Park

Thanks for all the info. I went to Barber's site and took a look at the requirements. If I only had about 2 more weeks to prep I'd be a go, but I'm afraid 4 days notice is a bridge too far. Yes please post when next opportunity arises! I am certain a day on a track meant for riding, with an instructor to help would be VERY helpful.

I need to put a zipper on my jacket so it will zip to my pants.

There ya go!

Check out
Sportbike Track Time - Get on the right track !! Toll Free #888-390-4020

I have ridden with them on numerous occasions and they ROCK!
All of the gear and bike prep stuff is on their site.
Hope to see ya out there soon!!!

Just got an email back from them and you can get into the paddock.

You have to pay a fee (imagine that!..... a FEE at Barber!) but when you get into the park take a left at the stop sign and follow the road around to the registration building, its right before the track entry check point on the right side if the road- it doubles as the classroom for the Porsche Driving School so look for a sign that might say something about that.
You'll need to give them my name and tell them you are a guest and you are good to go!

Call my cell or Dawn and she can tell yas where we are situated - that is if your wife can ever get you out of the museum!!!!

See ya there my friend!

8:30?? Dang. Here at the WestSide, we never start before 9AM. Actually, sighting laps are at 9.

For someone who doesn't pilot their own bike I had the time of my life...I'm ready to do it again! Going around on that track is something else even if it is 2 up!

Post track day report:

Weather was awesome. About 65 degrees and very little humidity. Rained the day prior but bright sunshine greeted us on day 1.

This is only my 3rd track day so I am a little slow / apprehensive. My buds, this was their second track day, and I'd say we are all a little faster each time. We all rode in the "I" class for the first time.

I was real skiddish in the first session and with each subsequent session I got a little more confident.
What I did, since I was in a new, faster group, was I gridded up dead last. Let the tires warm up for 2.5 or 3 laps then turned the Busa loose!
By the end of the 20 minute session, I 'd usually run down about 7 riders. Kinda cool showing the back side of the Busa to dudes on SVs, CBRs and Triumphs when only moments ago I was getting wierd looks from them like 'what the hel* is that thing doing here'!

Toward the end I was braking later, carrying some front brake to the apex and immediately rolling on the throttle on the way out. Only felt the front slide one time, made a mental note about where I was and how was rolling on the throttle and did not exceed it the next time through. Sure came a long way and the Busa had a friggin blast!

Raybusa (who drove down from TN to meet up with us) put some pics in the Gallery here at the .oRg

Search Results - Hayabusa Owners Group Gallery

I am going to have to wait to get the ones the track photo dude took.....
The wife took some vid and I'll try to edit it and get it on Youtube or something!

This time, there was another Busa there, guy on a red / black '05 was running in "N" and we gave him a heads up about the oRg. Maybe he'll drop by!!!

Looking forward to another date in early '09 and HOPE TO SEE MORE OF YOU OUT THERE THEN!

Very Sweet. Green with envy.

When I dropped my bike off at the Dealer Saturday (service + tire change), they told me that I just missed a guy that trashed his 08 Blue at Barber the week before. Wanted to talk to him but didn't want any bad mojo!
