Battlefield 3 vs Call of Duty?

I have 2 kids, we picked up 3 Hardened MW3 for the 360.

The only thing I like about PS3 is the BluRay player, however I really don't need it now. I wish XBOX would suck it up and add one but again, I'm not rushing out to buy a 360 that has BluRay. I'm waiting on the new XBOX (720 it's nicknamed).

May try the demo of BF but... From the Game Informer Magazine, they state the online play of MW3 feels like a map pack.
 
i'm am a call of duty guy and i'm a diehard player......but i don't think i'm going to buy MW3 though. from watching all the videos and previews it just reminds me of MW2 with a few add ons. why buy basically the same old game in my opinion. another great game i just bought yesterday is Batman Arkham City, love it so far!!!!
 
I am thinking more towards trying the BF3 game this time. Been through quite a few of the COD games and they are getting more and more away from sniping and allowing you a place to actually stop running. People hate "campers" and to me that is part of the strategy of staying alive and not just running around like a rag doll seeing who can pull the trigger first.

I also mute people who run their mikes all the time, especially when all they want to do is play what they call music or have their moms yelling at them the entire game to go do their homework. :rofl:

Based on whay I've heard, I think I might give something different a try.
 
Bf3 is currently the more realistic of the two imo. Have to say as a sniper I love the long range shots its soooo satisfying to drop a bullet right on someone's head. (takes a bit to get used to the ballistic drop tho)

I play on pc though

Xbox, pc, and ps3 name is the same as on here though StrtRac3r
 
I think my biggest issue with CoD is the new ones seem to be just like the one before it. Some basic tweaks and put it out to the public and release xpacks. They stop supporting the game about 4 months after release so they can work on xpack and next game.

I still play blops and some MW2. Its fun running about all crazy.

This new battlefield has fantastic graphics and runs at a good clip. And if I get annoyed by getting killed a bunch I just hop in a jet and try not to crash for awhile. The helis are a blast to fly. I enjoy the objective based games they have also plus the scale. One game can be in three locations changing the whole scene for you. But... Games can take forever and there are a few bugs that just shouldn't exist. You can't exit the game in between rounds or edit your character load out. Their VoIP system is messed up and doesn't always work, some of the sound channels drop out occasionally and when joining a game as a squad you are sometimes split up across teams and or squads in the same team. There are some patches coming soon to hopefully fix it. As for the campaign, it's ok. Fun to play while waiting for friends to log on. Coop is really enjoyable and you unlock
Guns for the multiplayer. But they may get old since there are so few.

I curious about the new mw3 to see how they did, but I won't buy it. Hope this helps a bit more than my last one.

Bullet drop is great lol. Once good you can drop rounds long range on people behind objects. Hard as hell but fun.
 
Btw I saw someone talking about map size, in a large conquest map you have 64 players, jets, helicopters, aa guns, tanks, jeeps, boats, and more. On foot it's gotta be 5 min just to sprint in a line from one spawn to the other in bf3.

Check redbox I know they have some games for rent. I would let you borrow mine for a day or two if you lived closer... I bet my wife would be happy to see it gone for a bit. :)
 
the BF3 looks sweet maybe as a stand a lone, but the COD series imo is far better in co-op, im old skool i still play the pc versions, i find it much easier than the xbox or ps3's, that eye hand coordination thing i guess.

I think you may have read the article wrong. They state the game does not feel like a map pack, but not quite like a complete new game

I'm also big on sniping or at least the slower playing strategy. The Modern Warfare series didn't get away from sniping, it was Black Ops that pretty much removed sniping, so I don't think there will be much to worry about losing sniping in MW3
 
I didn't have a problem sniping in Blops. I'm happy they tried fixing quick scoping. I really hated quick scoping. It amazed me they never fixed that exploit.

I've played sniper class only slightly in BF3 so far. But sniper spec is super valuable with mobile spawn an covering fire. Love it.
 
Gpmo, another thing to look foreward too with the scout is that u can target vehicles for the engineers javelin (if both players have the equipment unlocked) the engi never has to have line of sight.

Renting is a good idea though, it is one of those games u will love or hate, just give it a fair chance.

I forgot about that. I just got my engineer service star. Moved on to support, I want mortars :p

I love how squad dynamics work. A good balance will win the game.
 
I heard mw3 is gonna be like bf3 and have a scope glare that gives away snipers... I know on bf3 it's only the high powered scope that does this.

Got mortars two nights ago ! Very nice!!!!! I played only sniper in bfbc but found it a little bit harder bf3 so I play a lot of support needless to.say my teammates never run out of ammo!!!

I think I saw Blanca say earlier the release date is set for 11/7
