Beaumont, Kansas (Fly-n-diner)

Wish I didn't have to work today was a nice day for a change in Kan. Haven't been out there  gonna have to hook up with you sometime to find some nice roads. If we go for a nice ride usually head up 177 pass Cassody to Council Grove and if we have time take 57 to Junction City. Actually has a few sweepers for a Kansas road plus goes through the Flint Hills.
Next time I head for Bartlesville have to see if ya wanna tag along we go through Ponca City on the way down and back roads on way back.

BTW nice photos bug
Stop by and I will ride too, I am halfway between Wichita and Bartlesville.

Nice pics...hubby and I were just watching something on the Science channel over the weekend about those windmills...saw a new one they're making that dwarfs 'em...

About all I recall of Kansas was from riding through as a kid from CO to VA...then, in 2003 I headed west alone to see my sister in CO and I was shocked at how different the terrain was from my childhood memories of open fields and oil wells...

Hmm halfway inbetween eh? If ya talking back roads that would be maybe Cedar Vale? Usually end up stopping there on way back for gas. Decent little place even if ya pay 20 cents more per gallon of gas

Sorry bout digging up an old thread, but those blades on the windmills go through here all the time on trucks. Big surprise, but you usually see them traveling in 3's. It's hilarious watching the confusion when they go through town. There's one intersection that they have to block while they're moving through. And the stupidity that always happens when people are inconvienced by something that looks like that. I was also in southern Nebraska for work back in Sept. thru Nov. and they things traveled through there on 81. One of the guys I was working with told me that they are made down near the Gulf somewhere and travel to the northern US.

Full of useless info I guess.
