Bentvalve down, car turned in front of him,

It's absolutely wonderful to hear how he's doing, and how the members here have helped out. Prayers again to him and his family, and everyone that's spending time with him.

it's great to hear of all the progress he is making...looking forward to meeting him on a ride one of these days

(This was the post I made earlier in the week over at PNWriders.  it would have appeared here too but the site was down.)

He definitely has entered another stage... first sexual, then angry crusing at everyone, and now... very very appreciative and calling everyone ma'am or sir.  He is getting better physically and getting muscle tone back in the legs.  Which is good but also bad when in conjunction with his mental status.  He is still convinced he can walk and tried to transfer himself from his wheel chair to his bed... fell and busted his ass... nothing broken.  He will say he knows he isn't supposed to try to walk but does it anyway.  The nurses told him he'll break a hip and/or rebreak his leg.  He set off the bed alarm a few times while I was there.

He is very appreciative of all the support he is receiving.  He gave me a hug and a kiss on the cheek for coming to see him on his b-day.  He also said that having visitors right now means alot to him because he gets lonely the more his memory starts to come back.  His memory retention is getting much better.  Although he couldn't remember the previous day, he did remember who visited him that morning.

There were some things missing that did not transfer up with him from Harborview.  After getting back into Seattle, I stopped by the hospital and had them check his room.  No luck!!!   I filled out a missing items sheet.  Hope they find the missing stuff... of most importance, his digital camera that had pictures on it that he took the day he wrecked, but also the DVDs people brough him, and all the emails we have sent him, and his magazines.

Eric or someone please, when you visit him, ask the nurses to take inventory of what they have locked up for him.  That way I know what to persue with the hospital.

What did make an appearance was.... his helmet!!!

These were taken with my camera phone so they aren't the best quality but you will get the picture.  Gouges on just about every side of it.  Quite a bit of blood on the inside mouth area.  The right side where his cheekbone was fractured... you can see on the helmet 2 places where the outer shell is cracked... by the cheek area and the other by the side of the mouth area.  Arai makes some damn good helmets, I was expecting it to look much worse.

(WARNING -- there is some blood in the pics... not much, but just telling you ahead of time.  The majority of the blood is on the inside and splattered on the face sheild.)

Oh and I haven't forgotten, just been wrapped around tha axle at work and trying to get ready to head to Victoria for a few.

Have a good one.

Thanks Wildfire for the update....

That is fantastic to hear that Bent is progressing very well ...

Definitely not used to seeing James with hair.  He is getting better but really slowly.  He now understands he did wreck his bike.  But, even after he and I just looked at the pics of the accident scene, he's also convinced someone fixed the bike and he swears he went and looked at it and rode it.

Lucy always wanted to be able to look out the windows... Willy could care less as long as he had his blanket.
