If thinking in terms of Sport-Touring some of those bikes will never work . Well work is in the eye of the rider but take a CBR1000RR for example . If you place Heli-Bars on one so when your 1k miles away from home you don't think about selling it and hitchhiking home , it raises you up so much that the windscreen does not function . The screens are very narrow both stock and aftermarket . Almost the same as riding a naked bike and ZERO room for a tank bag
A 01 -04 Gixxer 1k with Heli's and aftermarket screen along with 360 V-Pole pegs gets the job done pretty well but the suspension is harsh on the slab sections . Mucho room for a tankbag large enough to actually carry something . Good bikes there .
A 2000 up ZX-9R was well designed and is overlooked by many . Depending on rider height might not even need to drop the pegs . Suspension works well on soft settings . 200 mile tanks easy and no need for different bars. One of my favorite bikes out of over 80 in my life time but ......
Hayabusa is the cream of the crop for me at 6'3'' 245lbs . Does it all pretty dang good and with a aftermarket pipe they are not as heavy as some non owners lead others to beleive .
The Busa is the best two up , do it all Sport-Tourer out there IMO .
Ride in after a 1500 mile trip with the Busa on Saturday , Sunday go run the 9's at the strip
