BEST EXHAUST SYSTEM?

The yoshimura system I bought through my old job was for the 2021 > gen3 hayabusa, it comes with the AT2 muffler and subsequent mid pipe , the mid pipe off the old gen2 system is longer . I sold off the AT2 muffler and mid pipe to mate , he's got them in his GSXR1000R, perfect match . The Hepta muffler not unlike the old R77 looks more suited to the busa
Love my AT2, but f*ck is it loud. How does your system compare? I don't think there's a ready solution, but it sure would be nice to have a switchable system where you could flip a switch or even pull a wire and get a much quieter exhaust.

Is there a baffle for the Yosh?

I like living in the past... Used an old GSXR1K OEM titanium muffler mated up to Brock's Ti headers & mid-pipe. I've put about 1k miles on the system, honestly kind of looked forward to changing the oil so I could fully see the color change.

Nice!! How much (inches or mm) did you stretch and lower it from stock?? Looks great! I've got an extended swingarm on the way along with an Alif lowering kit.

Only TBR ;)

What? Where? How?!?! They don't list the Gen3 on the website.
What?
TBR on gen 3 ;)

Where?
Just in garage ;)

How?
Full process here ;)

I'm not very mechanically adept (I'm professionally involved in the virtual world ;), but I was able to redo the catalytic converter exits, cut the connecting pipes at the right angles, weld everything together and mark for the welder. Welding here is not my job :(

The whole thing took a few days.

They did a fantastic job on those welds. Pretty cool having a one of a kind system like that.

Is the catalyst still intact, or is it just a hollow shell now?
Or do the pipes go through it and connect directly to the downpipes?

The catalyst and o2 sensors are intact. As you can see in the pictures those long ugly factory pipes I cut off right behind the catalytic converter and into them are inserted these new welded ones.

BTW the two probes measure exactly the same chamber. I thought there was some kind of baffle inside.... but no :)

it´s as easy as at a gen2
because engine and framework is equal at gen2 and gen3

so every gen2 exhaustsystem will fit at a gen3 - i suppose / i would say.

Several reports of full dual Gen2 exhaust not working on the Gen3 without modification, as the left hand side mid-pipe interferes with the shifter.

The layout from gen 2 does not fit gen 3, although it fits dimensionally. A few differences:
- no connection between cylinder 1 and 4
- 1 hole for the probe
- different mountings on the catalytic converter

My first thought was just to re-pipe from gen 2 and fill in the gaps. It came out cheaper to buy the whole kit and refit.
In these photos above where the pipes are taped together you can see the manifolds from gen 2.

The main reason why the whole system from gen2 does not fit gen 3 is as sixpack577 wrote the problem is quickshifter and different lever
