Best performing street tire?

I'm running Continental RoadAttacks right now and found them to be far superior in cold and warm grip to the OE Bridgestones plus they don't follow grooved pavement nearly as much. They're supposed to last longer than most other tires and from I've seen on my bike and others so far, that's true. Especially for the price, they're real hard to beat.

The road attacks look kinda cool, I know you dont buy a tire for the looks.

Michelin is owned and operated by the French and I don't buy them for personal reasons but I have been on them a number of times. I find them to give great grip at full lean and the pointed race profile works great on the track. The think I don't like about them is the casing is to flexible for my type of riding and they squirm under hard use. They don't hold a line as well as a tire with a stiff sidewall and for street riding, I'm not crazy about the steep race profile. But the absolute worst thing about the pilot power street tire is if you are a wheelie guy, they simply suck! You won't know what I mean unless you try it? Extremely hard to balance on that pointed profile combined with a soft flexible casing.

My favorite tire at the moment is the BTO14. Great tire!
I'm stuck between the M-3's & Powers, and your comments on wheelies...

I'm a green wheelie guy, but love trying!

I'm a green knee scraper, but love trying!

Love to accelarate!

Hate spending money....(who doesn't!)

So, if the new M3's have a tread life 50% better, and are probably better for wheelies, and hardly noticeable in the twisties.

What do you think? The m3's sound like the answer (I have the BT 14's but want to try a new tire)

just put new pilot powers on. i was amazed at how well they perform. i can turn much faster and im able to hold a tighter line then i could with the stock. great tires.

i run stockers. get most mileage out of them. hold just fine in the twisties believe it or not. gets slick sometimes, but all the more fun!

I've switched tires since this last post.....I'm on Sportec M-3s now.....I still like the Pilot Powers but these M-3s are really growing on me.....had a blast on these in some twisties....I have to admit they feel a bit more secure in the turns than the Powers did.....just my opinion of course...

On Pilot Powers...I'm putting my new Pilots this weekend so I can scrub them in for my track day on April 22. I've noticed they're only rated to 169 mph. Doesn't say 169mph+ . Any of you guys with Pilots take it faster than that with no issues? The straightaway @ California Speedway from t21 to t1 is a little over 1/2 mile long and speeds on the Busa will easily exceed that.

I'm buying M3's after this set of pilots are done. After 4 track days I'll switch to Sporttech. I've heard nothing but good things about them and hear that they're more of an "ideal" tire for the Busa and still great fot the canyons and track.

I'm getting the M-3 on Thrusday, the big selling feature for me was the extra 50% tread life. And from what I've read a perfect tire for the busa (the pilot probably feels a bit lighter do to the profile design, but I looked at both yesterday and they look the same)

We'll see how they are.

And post when I know.

P.S. Michelin pissed me off a bit, they have the new Power 2CT that sound great or their webiste, did some home work, and decided to buy them. They don't sell them in the North America, with no indication on the site.

I like the Metzler M-1 I had a flat on the stock tire, and I replaced on the M-1, and I really like the difference...
