I can't really say mine busa is a big bore it is only a 1360, but it is running 200+ H.P. I was done buy lee, I havn't runn it at a trck yet and don't know if I will. It dose move out though, like a rabbit on speed. Other than the same 2.5K to 3K glitch a lot of other people are haveing I have no Complants and Lee will have new Maps pretty soon.

I pretty much started this topic cause I wanted to hear about some of the others out there since mines not here to test & tune on.
I'm begining to think it's all about "stories" and "excuses"? It sure seems that away!

Busa1300, I've been told it doesn't matter what any dyno sheet from any builder pulls up from your bike. What tells all, is what shows up on the boards!

No lie's are told there...!

Hard to understand how someone could spend all that money and not want to know the real deal?

I know I'd like to know what kind of numbers Lee's motors can put on the boards?!?!

Busa1300, what gears are you useing?
I had My bike for a couple of weeks in between mods, and it still had the stock gears on it and I took out on the highway with a few other(stock) Busa's and they were dropping down to 5th gear while I was staying in 6th, and I still pulled away from them like they were on FZ1000.
I think I'm going to take 41 & 42 thooth rear sprockets to the track when I go?

I did find out one thing during that time...

It looks like 7 1/4 inches(axle) on My 7 to 9 over swing arm for the street is going to be the sweet spot!
Probably have to add a length for the drag strip?

I know a lot of people that sink loot into there bikes and never go to the track. you can put good numbers up if you are a good rider without all the money spent on engine work and you can also spend a ment and make the bike look like a turd if you don't know what you are doing or isn't confident in yourself. So the board doesn't tell the truth either. I guess the bottom line is if you pay for engine work and you got what you wanted then that is what counts, even if you don't use it or only use it when your back is up against the wall with some roll ons. The customer only knows if he/she has gotten their money worth. If you go to the best engin builder in the world and spend a fortune and get the best engin and go out and blow it up because you missed a gear or forgot to do something then you will talk big shi t about that shop. If you go to the sorriest builder and he give you a few added horses for you to beat stock bikes around your area then you are singing his praises. The truth is hard to find here on the net.

Just my 2 cents!!

Yes the truth is hard to find on the net that is for shure. As far as what shows up on the board, I havn't ever run at a dragstrip and only a few street drags. I had a cbr900RR turbo before this bike and never ran it at the strip either. I just do gernral riding, some curvie roads and back and forth to work. a couple of time a month hang out with the local squid kids and run the highways. Mostly I enjoy riding period. I had the engine work done because my stock busa seemed low on power after 100mph compared to the turbo RR and I didn't want anouther turbo. I do enjoy leaving people on the E-Way and rollons and such I might Take it to the track some day and run but like I said I just enjoy riding my busa.

Pics of the bikes.

I never stopeed to think about the fact that there are so many other Busas out there that are in the neighborhood of 200 hp... I'm itching to get to the track but 80% of my Busa is in the chrome shop right now. I'll post my results at the track when I get that far.

well Frank there you have 2 I would really feel lucky to get that many.
I beleive most are under cover.I don't care if mine is or not you will never know what motor I will be using but most serious bike people do not want most to know what is there.
Did I make sense?
I hope so.

Well I'll tell ya what JC, I'll take my bike to the strip as soon as I get some things worked out and not tell a sole, and I'll bet you $100 that some time by the end of 7 days you'll some how hear about it. And I dodn't even know where you live?

Somebody knows somebody, and even if they don't communicate on the net, at least somebody that visits this or one of the other two sites will hear about it....and the word starts to travel.

BTW Chucky, you could bog your motor, spin the tire or what ever, it's not really the ET's that tell the story anyhow. It's the mph.
You could have a bad pass but as long as you were in it all the way through the traps your mph will still be in a close enough range to see what you need to see...

Busa1300: What kind of kit do you have on your 900rr. Have you had it on a dyno and how much hp did it produce?

Yes that is amazing how that happens Frank.
I know what every one did last saturday night by 11:30pm and I did not even go.
Not even if you rent the track is it safe.
Yes MPH TELLS everything

Where are they?

There should be at least 75+ built Busa's out running the streets?

Why aren't we hearing about them?

If there is between 500 to a 1,000 members on Org somebody knows somebody that rides one of these Busa's.

Bob Carpenter alone has built over 40+ motors and nobody ever talks about how well they're running?

Why?

Are they not putting up the numbers(et's) they should be for motors with over 200rwhp?

They should be running 8.80's to 8.90's with those motors, if they really have that hp to start with?

I'm real close to going to the drag strip, you can bet you'll hear about my experiences...good or bad!

Where is the "ET's" and "MPH" on these bikes?

Do You Know?

"I've been told it doesn't matter what any dyno sheet from any builder pulls up from your bike. What tells all, is what shows up on the boards!"

That's right Frank,as we all know, dyno sheets can be made to show more power than is really there just like a flow bench. The serious people will take their bike to the track to back up power claims, for as you know, the clocks don't lie!

For those who do a lot of motor work but don't take it to the track because they feel they are not a good racer,do yourself a favor and go.If you really want to see if your bike is making the power the engine builder told you, even with a horrible launch, your trap speed will be a good indicator of horsepower.Horsepower will not hide from you.

"I think the less you hear means the better they are doing"

I have to disagree with you here Cyclestuff. When a bike is fast and/or quick for what it is,news of it travels at light speed,so it seems to me.

WL, yeah, but if you are having troubles with your bike you spent a lot of money on you will hear about it a lot quicker. I will run my bike at the track until someone posts my speed and I bet it will be a while. But if my bike blows, you guys will hear about it the same day. Trust me, bad news travel faster then good!!

"I know what every one did last saturday night by 11:30pm and I did not even go.
Not even if you rent the track is it safe"

Johnnycheese, that made me laugh, and it's so true. When I was into street racing,a lot of the people we would race would go to Englishtown to tune their cars and they would run N/T and either 60'it,run it through the eighth,or run it all the way out.I had friends that worked in the tower,so I would always know how fast they were and/or how hard they left the line,so,you are never, ever safe.

"But if my bike blows, you guys will hear about it the same day. Trust me, bad news travel faster then good!!"

I think a lot of this stems from jealousy and I have no clue why most racers are like this....must be human nature. Some people just love someone elses misfortune.I would never want someones motor to blow up unless they did something to me personally.I want to see that special car or bike flying because I want to know what they did to make its quickness stand out above the rest.I think it's because I know it takes a lot of time and effort(This is also why racers are reluctant to give out info) to get it there, otherwise, everyone would be flying, right??

I'm not sure what you mean by jealousy. What I am saying is if a guy spends a lot of money on a engine and he is racing of course he is going to keep it under raps. That is why a lot of guys don't go to the track because their time will give there secrets away. That is why Frank posted this topic because no one is talking about them. When I was in Daytona I seen 4 1430 busa's from carpenter and they all were from Atlanta. They even had there receipts down there because they came straigt to there. I keep in touch with all four of them. Three of them told me that they want me to bad mouth carpenter if they had bike troubles, but until then I can't say names. So who would be jealous if one of them blew up there engin and they called me to post it? Most guys who spend a lot of money in there engin have intenions on getting it back by street races. That is why you don't hear a lot about big motor busas. That is just my personal opinion and experience.

Busa1300,
I would be glad to ride your bike at the next weekend race around here, that is assuming that you live in Charlotte area.I'am assuming that since you talk of Lee alot.I personnaly know lee and he bulid what he says he builds. Hell do you ever go to the track? Mooresville , The RocK, Shady Side?

I'll try and explain what I mean by "jealous". I know people and I bet you do to that are jealous of others who drive and/or have nice things, and because of that, they do not like them and wish bad things upon them. When you have a fast and/or nice bike, you can be sure there are people who do not like you for no other reason.Maybe it's because they don't have it,their bike is slower,or they can't afford to do what you do,I don't have the answer,I just know I have seen it over and over.

If your a street racer,I totally understand NOT going to the track but I don't understand why a street racer would post on the net and also why in the world would he post his motor size, especially a 1430! If anything, tell people it's a stock bore.Street racers lie through their teeth anyway,it's the nature of the game.I know,at one time I was there but took it to the track when people started bringing guns.It wasn't fun anymore and I wanted to live for a long time.
