BIG BORE BUSAS

I'll try and explain what I mean by "jealous". I know people and I bet you do to that are jealous of others who drive and/or have nice things, and because of that, they do not like them and wish bad things upon them. When you have a fast and/or nice bike, you can be sure there are people who do not like you for no other reason.Maybe it's because they don't have it,their bike is slower,or they can't afford to do what you do,I don't have the answer,I just know I have seen it over and over.

If your a street racer,I totally understand NOT going to the track but I don't understand why a street racer would post on the net and also why in the world would he post his motor size, especially a 1430! If anything, tell people it's a stock bore.Street racers lie through their teeth anyway,it's the nature of the game.I know,at one time I was there but took it to the track when people started bringing guns.It wasn't fun anymore and I wanted to live for a long time.

no bore yet Frank but I am waiting (no hurry) for my crank to get back from APE.
After I get the crank back I will deciede if I want to bore. How about you?

I think the less you hear means the better they are doing. You know bad news travel faster then good. I have a big one from carpenter and I can't to talk about it. Hopefully I will wear your ears out next month about it. I know a lot of people are holding back a lot of things from a lot of different engine builders. I'm not afraid to say how I got F U C K E D! by Stupid Bike Mike. But I know a lot of guys who are trying to save face for there mistakes. That is probably another reason why we don't hear much about the big engines. And we also have to add in the BS factor about a lot of engines and bikes and engine builder and riders.

Paul(Mr. Grande Central Station), why aren't you sending these racers to this site?
We like all kinds...even you! Hahaha..just kidding.

Paul, is there any big named builder useing the "Cometic" gaskets on any Busa motors yet?

Also, could you tell us how far "Cometic Gasket" has come since you've been in the seat?(don't mean to put you on the spot)

It would be nice to know that there are other options since "Cometic" is back into the game?

Whats the fastest asperated Busa you've heard of?

Sonnybusa : as far as a turbo the setup I had before was running around 9 #'s of boost running that moch boost with basicly stock comprasion pistons you have to run race gas. I had arias pistons slightly lowwer compresion. I always ran race gas, never know when you were going to use the boost. I also had turbo for a few years and wanted to have a motor built with no turbo,NOS ect... just the motor that would run on pump gas.. Turbo was great, loved the power wheelies at around 115MPh..

RPMpower: I had a kit the Mc Intyres made they ran them in Formula USA before they outlawed turbos, and eveything else fun in the class. set up for the street it made 186HP the last I had it dynoed. not bad for almost all stock internals (arias pistons stock compression).

Underdog: Sorry I live up here in Michigan. I got to some local tracks up here but mostly watch a couple of freind run their cars. Did lee ever run the scud at the track before he sold it? Hopfully he will have the new one done before bike week next year I would love to see it run...

Lot of the people I know around here don't talk much about what is done to their bikes because they street race them, ushally for some pretty good $$$. Yes everyone lies bad at the street races. Ihave seen 750 that were done out to 905 trying to tell everyone it was stock except a pipe and jetting.

I talk to guys with big bore, 200+hp busa's on a weekly basis, and almost all the guys I talk to are strictly street racing them, and will not race them at the track. One guy I know runs constant 8.80's on his GSXR1100 at the track and he says his big bore street racing only busa would eat it his GSXR up. Believe me Frank, just because you dont hear about these bikes does not mean they are not out there cleaning up. You wouldn't believe how many Busa owners I talk to that have never heard or this board or Labusas.

Frank there is two busa`s at Sanford Honda & Suzuki with broke rods...they were spraying...I just want my dam head back...I`ve got a 2000 that I bought on 12-23-99 and it has one mile...now I remember why I quit drag racing....Wheels have been gone for 60 days...I even went out and bought a Venture to tour on since I don`t seem to be able to get the bus back together..its aggravating when you plan for 4 months and a dam thing doesn`t work out....now I feel better...thanks...

Chris, if I can ever help you have My Ph#!
I know what you mean though, My 99 is 1 year & 4 days from the time I bought it and it only 285 miles on it!(procrastinators)

Where is your head at, did you send it out west?

Don't know of any big bore busa's around here. Middle georgia area has two drag strips, but havn't heard of any running here. Would love to see one run the 1/8 or 1/4 mile. Thats not for me the busa is fast enough like it is for me.

I agree that 2mm for 10hp doesn't seem worth it, but this guy wanted the extreme. I talk to his mechanic on a regular basis and he said he didnt want to do the 85mm but the customer insisted. The customer (who will remain nameless) rides it on the street every weekend and says it doesn't start getting hot until he sits in traffic for more then a minute or so, and that it seems very reliable so far.
Frank, I sold my Busa cause I wanted a bike I could do more stunts on (wheelies, stoppies...) and the wife put the kabosh on having more then one bike. Since I dont dragrace I sold the Busa. I miss the Busa power, but I am a street hooligan. I love doing the stunts and the CBR900RR is a much better stunt bike then the Busa is. The Starboyz live in the area, so Cleveland has really become Wheelie Town. Its alot of fun.

Hey guys....while your bikes are in the shop for months on end, forever being expensively modified I'll be out riding my bone stalk 'Busa which is already the undisputed fastest and most powerful mass produced bike to date.

Tom, you should be getting close, aren't you??
You might be waiting on some valve springs like I am? Hmm...?

GSXRTURBO1, the BUSA game.
Paul has really been working Hard, and is very dedicated to the dragrace scene and his work! I only pay attention to Hayabusa part of his program, and would like to hear more about it.

Frank,
This should give you an idea of how many modified Hayabusa's there are out there. This is how many Busa gaskets we have sold since 11/99:
base gaskets (assorted thickness)..58
.080" alum base shims..............25
.100" alum base shims..............3

Head gaskets
83mm (2mm over bore)...............139
84mm (3mm ob)......................19
85mm (4mm ob)......................15
81mm (stock bore)..................3
79mm (dwarf car, 1250cc limit).....2

Engine case kits...................98

So to answer your question to what big name motor builders are using our gaskets, I think the question is what motor builders are not using our gaskets.

The most power that I have heard of is 219hp out of an 83mm ob, and 229hp out of an 85mm. These are very honest numbers.

I wont tell any 1/4 mile numbers because many of the street racers I deal with dont want anything to get out, but I will say that there are atleast 10 Busas running the streets that I know of that can get into the 8's at will. I know of one guy that has 2 identical Hayabusa's, one piped, remapped and lowered and he will race you with that one first and when he lose's the first race, you get your confidence up he switches bikes for the next bigger money race and his other one has 200+hp. You will never see a guy like this on a track.

The drag racing program is really going great. I am doing alot of custom stuff for all the best names in the business. It is real exciting.

Paul

Hey Frank, I was just messin with ya. Yeah, the bike is done, but now I have to sort everything out. Teething problems, I'm sure you can relate. I wish I had just stopped putting money into this thing and just bought a Busa. I'd be alot happier, and probably going just as fast without touching a thing! Oh well, at least I can take comfort that there aren't alot of bikes like mine around even if there are a lot that are faster!

Paul, I'd have to say that the 10 extra HP from 2 mm just isn't worth the potential problems, at least from my point of view. For the guy that has to have the absolute most HP that may be another story and worth it.
