Brag about what you've GAINED

It's an odd site where almost all it's member are respectful and
intelligent.
I've learned alot in the 1 month time spent on here, but the knowledge seems like a year.
My #1 post is probably about the "Pace" of streetriding.
Hope I can make it to the next Busa Bash. It's a loooooong way down theya.

Wow. Leave it to the Blond to come up with a "What is the meaning of life?" type of question... What have I gained here? I think joining this place marked the start of my evolution as a rider; transitioning from just being a motorcycle owner to being part of something akin to a collective; I have said many times that this place is a co-op in many ways... people have already discussed the knowledge and respect passed between members. It is funny that I have only dealt with three people on this board who have worked me up to the point of cussing - and all three of them were evicted in relatively short order (no, not by me

)... I think we have standards here, not just in the excercision of keyboard kung-fu, but a sort of expectation of doing the right and noble things.
I used to go back and look at my first posts, I have done some things wrong on the bike, as a Mod and Admin and as a person; around here - making mistakes is acceptable, ignoring the resultant lessons from those mistakes is not. I have met some great and wonderful people; people I have tried to help and people who have helped me. I don't think you could put a value on the environment here - I know that I couldn't - but I do know that I have gained more than I could possibly ever give back. But that is what makes me want to try!

#1 would be a forum where I can communicate with my son on a daily basis and talk about things we have in common (busas). A close 2ND. would be the friends I have met here. Without the org I would have never met them. All the info and tech help is great, but the people who are a part of my life now is a true blessing.

Very well said, Shawn.

(VaBusa @ May 31 2007,13:29) My overall attitude toward sport bikers has changed A LOT...I used to just think they were the guys that did stupid stuff on a bike, but now I know some of the guys personally and feel bad talking about 'em

i came to this board because someone posted the website on the "other" board when a lot of confrontation was going on. i use both and two other forums. 1 for sidecars and another for pcdmis programming.(don't ask). i have learned a lot from both busa forums, met some great folks online and bought my first busa may 1st. 1st "sportbike" ever. came from the harley background. last weekend even rode with my harley buds. all their comments were stupid to me. wanted me to do wheelies and burnouts and stuff like jason britton does. i tried to explain to them that the hayabusa exemplifies "the essence of motorcycling". they don't have a clue. if it wasn't for these forums-i wouldn't either. thx everybody.

I've gained gobs of great information about Busas and motorcycles in general. Also, most members here are ready & willing to step up to the plate to help someone out that deserves and needs it.

Well I guess the one main would be the friends. Before getting on here I would have never meet Badassbusa03, Justight, Rockadaous, NCpanther01, and Apex. The local guys from the board that I can proudly call friends.

Not to mention every addict needs his drug. And boy is this place addicting.
