Braking

ok bill, so you know what traffic im talking about... thats relief

You guys have such good roads in the US... I ued to stay in Poughkeepsie NY, have ridden a friends bike there couple of times... its a blast

Well anyway, with the breaking... I think I'll go with your way then, cause you have the experience

do I need to knowpart numbers
rock.gif
.. or do I just tell them I need it for the Haybusa when I'm ordering the stuff?

Im thinking of changing the lines, rotors and the pads for both the front and rear breaks... I hope that makes sense

I just went to the local bike shop and bought stuff for a hayabusa.

I didnt bother with the back, since 80% of your braking comes from the front.

Bill,

I checked out Http://www.cyclebreaks.com and have decided on the following -

Break Lines - Galfer Steel Braided Lines (Dual Line Kit)
Break Pads - Galfer HH Pad
Rotors - Galfer Wave Rotors

Now, Is this setup ok
rock.gif
Is there something that you would want me to know before I call up and order it? Are the Break pads and Rotors Busa specific, or are they generic

Thanks for all the guidence

You only need some EBC HH pads, they will throw you over the bars!!!! Really, they are the best I've ever seen and used.

I ordered the EBC HH pads... for the front and rear, and also ordered EBC rotors for the front! Still on the lookout for a site that ships steel liners internationally

I don't know a whole lot about things, but ...

I thought the HH were more for racing and take a while to heat up

and the GG were more for street and don't need to heat up.

I could be making this all up though
smile.gif
,but I think I heard/read that somewhere...

Thanks for that link jay... I'll check it out! I dont think so that HH has to heat up jay... atlest the site that I ordered it from didnt say so

I just put some braided lines on and cant wait till i am able to check and see the difference. when i just put on some new pads ebc hh, i could tell a diff. so hopefully i will tell a diff. now. i also put some racetech fork springs in.
cant wait to get back on and ride.

GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR BRAKING.

I installed Galfer SS lines on my front, the brakes never felt that bad to me but I was doing one of my other bikes so I got lines for the Busa as well. There's a definite improvement with the ss fronts. I bought but haven't gotten around to installing the ss rear line.

If you brake feels soft there may be air in the line, the brake fluid is installed by the dealer when the bike is delivered and they may have done it worng. Mine was rock hard from the dealer and yet still improved somewhat from the ss lines.

I got the lines from these guys: http://www.hardracing.com/Brakes/GalferLines.htm

good service and cheap

Get a mityvac http://www.mityvac.com/kits.html#brakebleedingkit , it makes bleeding the brakes relatively easy.

FYI-the tokico brakes have a problem with sticky pistons if they are not cleaned regularly, otherwise they are actually pretty good(as evidenced by their almost universal adoption by every jap manufacturer)but of course get steel lines and better pads.

and check out Performance Machine if you do want to upgrade you brakes, sick sick stuff

Hey Guys ... finally the upgrade, shaped up like this -

a) HEL Front and Back Break LIners
b) EBC HH Break Pads for the front and Rear
c) EBC Rotors for the front (Light Weight)

So whats your call on it people

Sounds nice.

No rear rotor, stock one good enough?

Now that you wet your palette, next year you'll have to get some brembo master cyliners.
