Brand New 2022 Gen 3 Hayabusa Clicking Engine noise

If you have a warranty why wouldn’t you just bring it to the dealer and have them diagnose and fix it?

When I installed an aftermarket exhaust and didn’t tighten the bolts enough it caused an exhaust leak. It was very different from what I hear in your videos.
As per Suzuki's own employee/engineer it's a non issue.

Problem is that the dealership techs here in Canada haven't even seen the Gen 3 so many times let alone know for sure if the noise is normal or not so all they do is call it a non issue. For any repairs they need a pre approval from Suzuki that's why I directly engaged Suzuki in the first place.

Suzuki did approve a new cam chain tensioner but I am going to tell them in the coming Summers that I don't need a new tensioner as some one time favor (that's how they are seeing it right now IMO) and need the noise gone or bring another bike and confirm that the noise is normal.

If you think the busa is noisy, listen to the 2017 BMW 1000RR !!!! I believe the 2022 busa is a little louder than the 2012 I. But only a little. The Suzuki dealer in Miss. convinced me that we needed to split the cases to see what the problem was and that there is no problem. It can get loud w/o your helmet on too, don't worry man, it's normal. As they say, if it worries you that much, bring it in under warranty. But in my experience, the less a shop puts its hands on your bike, the better!!

Hayabusa 2022 engine clicking noise at idle on a hot engine. Can hear this click click sound every time after a w15-20 minute ride on idle.

Consistently makes this noise on idle after a 10-20 km ride.
I also have had some “clicking” noise when the engine was really warm and on idle.
Suzuki’s mechanic said it is not an issue.
I changed the oil to 10W50 (full synthetic) and the noice is no more there.

There‘s a same issue going on with the GSXS 1000 GT. Nothing to worry about, it’s a typical Suzuki noise.
We didn't have the internet when I was first riding GSXRs.....the noises those oilers made was really something.....and I note my Hayabusa makes similar noises...

I agree, it's the nature of Suzuki engines to be noisy....it used to be called "angry noises" by the techs in the day...

Then when Suzuki brought out the dry clutch...wow, those noises were something to behold....

Now with the GSX-S GT it is the timing chain tensioner and the oil needs longer to build up pressure during construction. It sounds really terrible, but Suzuki says to the customers that's ok. Time will tell if there will be higher signs of wear and tear in the area in the future.

You generally does not believe how sensitive the bikes are today. Just look at my 2017 CBR1000RR which has a mid-range rattle/ringing if you don't fuel it with at least 98 octane or higher. 98 or 102 octane in the fuel and it runs silky smooth and full. Anything below that makes them rattle like nuts through the engine. Damn EU emission standards, the engineers in Japan sometimes overshoot the mark.

But I still remember the old days in Germany when it was said "If a Suzuki doesn't make any noise or doesn't rattle, it's broken".

Normal. If you would listen to my 2017 BMW1000RR, the busa is quiet! It sounds like an engine case with marbles sloshing around! Same thing with releasing the clutch, the slight clack noise when releasing the clutch is also normal.

First step would be to change the oil to 10W50 as @manyek suggested . . . at higher temps it has a higher viscosity than the 10W40 which is the factory spec oil in the bike.
This will help to quieten down the valve train and cam chain tensioner etc.
This is the first line of reasoning a dealership tech (or any tech with a brain) would take.
If that change of oil grade makes no difference THEN the cam chain tensioner is replaced.
Another remedy is to install a MANUAL adjustable CCT.
Trust me, I'm a dealership tech lol.

Can you please capture a clear video with the noise! I am in talks with Suzuki Canada country head for proper diagnosis and repair. They are in talks with the factory.
I have a 2023 with about 500 miles on it. I usually ride with earphones, but just today I didn't have them in and I heard this ticking noise at idle.

My bike seems to only do it at warm idle. If I ride for a while, shut off the bike for 4 or 5 minutes, and then turn it back on, it makes the same clicking sound as yours.

The ticking sound increases along with throttle increase and goes away at higher RPM's

Keep us posted if you find anything out!

I’ve got the same thing. Sometimes I’ve got a possible piston slap sound too, sounds the same as my 2 stroke thumper does with no exhaust albeit the hayabusa sound is quieter.
