Brock's lowered prices....

Just went to there website and the prices are lowered. I guess the economy is slowing his buisness too. Is his exhaust the best choice for the 08 Busa? I keep reading all the opinions but keep coming back to Brock's as being the best performing. Is there really that much of a difference between the others? I like the quality of the Yoshimura R77 full system I installed on my friends (1Badbusa74). Install was smooth and rather easy once you figured out the jigsaw puzzle fairings. Is the louder pipe worth the extra power if there is any? I had a loud Harley and it didn't bother me too much, but if I don't need it I will do with out it. ???

The Alien head is the route for power..... Maybe 3-4 HP depending on to many factors to list

NOT 2 MENTION COMPITION.My last new product e-mail from Schnits racing said they will beat the price on anything he sells.Thats what it said thats direct copy or quote.

Schnitz Racing will match any advertised price on the entire Brock's Performance product line!

Its great that they are lowering the prices, but even at $100.00 off I still think they are to spendy. Now I realize when you buy an exhaust you are paying not only for the product, but the R&D as well and we have a fist generation bike so of course we are going to get screwed buying new products, but $1000.00 for a hollow tube is a bit excessive in my opinion. Thats why I just cut mine.

In my opinion if they will match the price from brocks then what's the point in buyin from Schnitz? If they offer 5% off more after they match it then I will go with Schnitz if not why bother tellin them to match brocks' price??

Price, price, price. I have been involved with sportbikes and modified bikes since about 1998 and I have owned maybe 12-15 sportbikes since then and every one has had an aftermarket exhaust or at least slip ons. I have bought expensive ones, cheap ones, high quality ones, and I have bought some of them from good dealers, some from bad dealers, some from small companies.

After you get over the initial price of the item I usually forget all about what I paid for it and over the 1-5 year life I expect from an exhaust I am then a lot more focused on the VALUE that it delivers. Does it work? Does it fit? Did it start to look like ass after one rainy ride? Does it make power? Do I have to spend $350 to remap my bike? Is there anyone there to call if I have questions or problems?

With companies like Brock and Schnitz the answer is usually a positive one. I recall once I bought a Yoshi exhaust for my then new 2000 GSXR750 and it had the wrong mid pipe so it wouldnt fit. Now my bike is stripped down and no exhaust. I called Yoshi and they insisted that I first send the wrong pipe back to them and THEN they would fix their mistake. OR I could give them a CC# and buy a new Mid pipe to fix their mistake. Either one sucked for me and my bike was down a week unless I wanted to spend even more money.

At that point getting the lowest PRICE was not the most important thing to me. I only wish that had been a BROCK exhaust because Brock would have shipped me the right pipe out THEN.

At another point I had another major brand of pipe that started to rust even though it was stainless afterone year on a 1999 Hayabusa. I ended up throwing it in a dumpster because I could not even sell it USED and bought another brand. Again if I had not focused on the best price product and instead bought a GREAT pipe at a good price I would have came out ahead in the long run.

To sum it up there is a japanese quote that loosely translated goes something like this. The bitter taste of a poor quality product will be remembered long after the sweet taste of a "good deal" is forgotten.

So instead of trying to get the cheapest product at the lowest price I encourage all of you to instead focus on buying good products at good prices from reputable dealers such as Brock. Schnitz, HPC, KWS motorsports, Orient Express, Leo Vince etc etc. I am sure there are others too.

One thing that is critical in the equation is the Brock PERSONALLY is involved with the design and support of all his products that his name goes on. And if you have a problem you may well end up talking to Brock on the phone too. Plus he also builds and gives you a custom map for any exhaust that you buy from him. That alone is a $300-$400 option if you did it at a seperate Dyno.

My last exhaust came from Brock and it included TWO maps. One for the street and one for the track. The bike runs GREAT with the map right out of the box and I didnt spend another dime on it since. It is for my 08 Busa and really like it so far.

So please dont look just at prices or you will be unhappy in the long run, take it from someone that has done that too many times in the past.

rotts.. agree with you 100%. brock has great servicel as well as a great product. i have bought 2 pipes from him so far and will most likely buy a third from him for my 08 busa.

service is deffinetley remembered long after a good deal.

I agree that customer service is very important. The main question was is there that much of a difference in the performance. 3 or 4 horsepower over the Yosh might not be worth waking my neihbors on late nights. Plus you need a pc3 to go with the Brock's, when you can get away without one with the Yosh.

I ordered my shortmeg through brocks on friday and I will see it tomorrow. The only reason I went through them instead of Schnitz was because I didn't want the hassle of registering it with brocks to get my maps. I think you CAN get away with not running a pc3 on the Brocks but you have to get a O2 bung welded in. It will also come down to if you want a single or dual exhaust and IMO the single looks much better.

Lee's performance goes all the way to a stage 4 motor build with a BROCK'S PIPE and if memory serves me correct it's 240-250 HP to the rear wheel. He can do it through the stock ECU, he told me this personally when I had my 05 busa dyno tuned. I watched him do mine and I only have a stage 2 which I don't believe he even does anymore. I'm pretty sure he only does stages 3 & 4 now. But anyway like I've said before I have 175 & some change to the rear wheel, it's through the stock ECU, and my air/fuel ratio line was almost perfectly flat. My only problem now 29,000 miles later is that I'm bored with it & want more. In fact I sold my PC3 USB to go toward the cost of having this done. Down side if you want to call it that is now I'm pretty much stuck going back to him unless I buy another PC3 USB.
