First off, we are both (relatively) ok. I am walking fine with two minor scrapes. But Amy has severe road-rash on L. knee, chin, cheek, r.wrist, n inside of left thigh...only two inches away from u-know-what. No broken bones. But the busa is done...for months. rear rim, gas tank, front fairing/headlight, right plastics (all), clip-ons, n front sub-framework is bent.

went out for breakfast with my fiancee riding on back-we both had on gloves n leather jackets; I was wearing reinforced jeans but she only had on thin cargo pants. N no lids...

took off from a light n gave it just too much...I just had sm. airbox mod n new PC map put in yesterday, then rode it home n played around last night a bit. I was not prepared for how fast the power hit...n I mean HIT, right from 4k, slipping the clutch. I felt the front lift n i think i twisted throttle a bit more from trying to hold on-this is why i never do wheelies. I hope all of you who do mods to your bike-take care to ensure you can control that added HP, n dont risk anyone elses safety but your own till you are totally aware of how much power you now have.

Words cannot describe how horrible I felt when I turned around after dumping the bike knowing Amy fell behind me... I got up and she was limping to the curb, srcapes on her face n legs were obvious...then i layed her down n saw what happened to inner leg...
looking at her now, seeing her in this much pain because of my mistakes (1-not forcing her to wear full gear, 2-being a ####-head n trying to blow everyone away from a stoplight)
I dont know when I'll ever get back on a bike...not sure what I'm doing with mine yet. To be continued i guess.

Be safe out there people.

N FOR ALL THE YOUNG GUYS OUT THERE-THE NEXT TIME YOU WANNA DO A WHEELIE OR FLY DOWN THE ROAD WITH ANYONE ON THE BACK (ESPECIALLY SOMEONE YOU CARE ABOUT) THINK HOW THEY WILL LOOK LIKE IF THEY FALL OFF. MAKE THEM WEAR GEAR TO PROTECT THEM-PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Glad you two are ok. It could have been much much worse. Take it easy and get healed up before you make any decisions about the bike.

Don

Really glad your are still here to post about it. Hope you both heal quickly! Worry about the bike later.

dam dude....don't know what to say.

Just glad the both of you are here to talk about it.

I hope she heals fast....I understand about the gear thing..it seems like alot of people are going down this year. If you need help with ur bike repair you know ur at the right place.

The most important thing is that you both survived and are ok except for some minor scratches. Not going to judge on the "lids", just hope you buy some and wear them in the future brother. I would die if my wife was hurt on my bike because of choices I made. Can relate to how you are feeling...

Glad to here your OK, but damn it sucks to hear about everyone learning the hard way about not wearing gear.

Glad to here that you both are ok. Take care of your girl!!! Then worry about the bike!!!! (It will always be there!!!)

Glad to hear you are ok, sorry about your girl and your bike, just be glad you are both still here to learn a valuable lesson.... GEAR...

I always put girls on the back of my bike in full gear. Thats just "Monday Morning Quarterback" shid at this point.

Girls should always wear lids. They have pretty faces that must be kept intact.

If me or any of the ugly "Site Bastids" here on the Org got a face full O' scars it would only improve things, add a bit of character and give us a "conversation peice".

Girls on the other hand, will suffer huge physical pain, and even higher mental pain.

Keep 'em safe boyz....its our jobto do whats right.

Dont turn this into a bashing thread. They both have several kinds of pain. Enough pain that don't need to hear..."I told you so".

Its time to step up...*Org Style*.

Whatever you need Big D and Amy....Rubb's in your corner.

So is the Org.

Best wishes... RSD.

Sounds like someone was lookin' out for 'ya! Glad the 2 of you are relatively okay. You need to make sure she heals up quickly, so you won't have to hear about the scars that showed while she was in that wedding dress!

Sorry to hear about the accident. At least both of you were not hurt worse. You owe her big time. I know you know that. I'm sure she sees the pain you feel for causing her pain. Just keep showing her that you love her. Time heals all wounds.

Both of you heal fast.

Give u credit 4 saying u made a mistake and it was just that a mistake I can totally see this happening with the front end coming up making your arms straighten out and blipping the throttle harder along with the future wife pulling on u harder also because she is trying to stay on and thats even more force pulling u back and more throttle. U r ok learn from it and be there for her and it will all work out bro.

Sad to hear your both scraped up, but glad you guys are otherwise OK.

Kudos to you for posting this like you did.

Maybe somebody will read this and learn from it, and go out and buy gear or always wear the gear they have.

I hope she heals fast....I understand about the gear thing..it seems like alot of people are going down this year. If you need help with ur bike repair you know ur at the right place.
Seems like alot of people are going down every year. All the gear all the time.

Hope you both heal up 100% real soon.
