busa vs lambo

Nice race, shows good mid range power but after two decades since the original Hayabusa hit the street, the latest and ‘greatest’ version should run the quarter in the 9s right outta the crate. My stock Gen1 runs the quarter in the 10s. My 40 year old CBX was just a second slower.

True, but an air strip at whatever alt and temp is vastly different to a prepped race track. I would guess that if they raced at my local track at similar temps those times even for rookies would have dropped at BARE minimum .2 for both. I live in Maryland btw. US13 dragway is my closest track. Even that absolutely beautiful Aventador spun badly.

Easy to say but not like with like. If your Gen1 and CBX had had the equivalent of the Gen3 emissions crap in them they wouldn't have. Add another few seconds.

And Suzuki coulda made the new Busa with a more powerful motor. My ‘18 Z900RS runs in the mid 11s much like the six carb CBX and yet it has all the emissions crap the new Hayabusa has.

Different point entirely. They could of but they didn't. Unfortunately.
As for your Z900, same principle applies. Take the crap out of it and it'll go faster.

I got your point.
Mine is, ultimately modern bikes are still faster than yesteryears in spite of emission regs. Also we should be glad they still made the G3 even if it's not fast enough for the usual naysayers.
And the Z900 should do better as it's much lighter than a G3.

Walked right into it. Exactly.
Far too many variables for meaningful comparison.
Modern stock bikes are quicker. Period.
Should the performance gap be even larger than old tackle is a moot point imo.
If they could be, they would be I'd say. All things considered.

An almost $400.000 car should be able to kick the arse of whatever it wants...the fact that a motorcycle that costs probably the price of it's tires and rims was able to outperform it at all is a miracle..

Now if they were going for top speed, that'd be a whole other kettle of fish as the bike wouldn't stand a chance.....very few bikes would....

Chap on a G4 s1000rr outdragged a raft of supercars over the mile. The Tesla was closest.
On Ebay recently, a 250 plus mph turbo busa for 14 grand.

There are a couple videos of the gen 3 Hayabusa and ZX14R getting their arses handed to them by a Tesla Plaid.

I'm sure there is.
Got mine handed by some medium sized hybrid thing from the lights, straightlined the roundabout and he was Gone. Amazing torque.
There's a clip of a current electric bike.. a Lightning I think..keeping up with an H2.
Wonder whether Suzuki will keep the hayabusa name going with an electric or hybrid version in a decades time. Would be good.

I'd say the next rendition of the Hayabusa will be an e bike....who knows how far that is out though....

It does if you’re a competent rider,…when anyone can do it with the push of a button like Tesla then it’s no longer the same experience IMO.
