Can an R1 beat a Hayabusa?

The reason I picked the AMA super stock class is becuase those are the closest to the machines we can buy off the show room floor.
Dude, Honda has all but spelled it out that they don't care about the Superstock class. They got 2 1000RRs that qualified at daytona. Alex Gobert and sum other no name. Thats why they aren't there.

Do I like it? No. I wish they would focus on all of the classes, and yes superstock is cool cuz it it closest to our bikes. But they have their own strategy Im sure. Kinda like suzuki in MotoGp, just not there ya know...

Look at the Superbike class. 2nd and 3rd place I beleive honda took at daytona.

MotoGp... Rip already mentioned that one.

I am not a Honda guy either, but lets face it. They are the tip of the sword when it come to putting power to the ground.

ok, forgive me everyone......

I rode an R1 today, it's the sickest sportbike out IMO,
but It's not as comfortable as my BUSA. I'd consider buying it as a 2nd bike,
but it's a tough call. I just came into some good $$$ but do I need 2 bikes?
i have the space, but during the winter, it'll be a nightmare to maintain the battery's.

get over it, it's like a street fight between 2 close bikes, but when it comes to
the canyons, we can't keep up. I wish we could. then they'd really be assed out.

I am just seeing what people have to say about the Ri and the Hayabusa. I wanted to see which one is faster. Now I know which bike to get. The busa. The R1 would be so much slower. I will definatly settle with the busa because of all of the reasons that you guys posted.

Thank you for posting. And for helping me make my decision.

I will add this, if I have to ride up to meet up with Doc Busa in Vegas for that bike event,
I'd rather do it on the BUSA 1,000,000 times over any other bike R1 or not.

I think the more politically corect term is

"Suck up"

Or maybe I should have addressed the

"Richard Cranium " remark?

Troll or no...  Let's settle this now.

With equal riders (this is VERY important) the R1 will smoke the busa on the twisties...  PERIOD.  SMOKE!

However, the 180 crank HP is also with ram air...  Many would argue that being so much lighter the difference in torque doesn't matter.  Perhaps they are correct.  However, that weight is one of the busa's gifts when it comes to launching.  You can dump it and get a very strong jump without looping.  Also, the lower center of gravity and longer wheelbase all add up to better jump too.

Top speed??  Aerodynamics speak for themselves.

Let's sum up...  Twisties, R1 wins...  Everything else, busa is KING!  If you want to go fast in twisties, get a Honda 1000 RR, not the R1...  Because it is better still.  For everything else, including being the baddest dude on road, get a busa.

oracle, where do you get that information? you havnt seen the fast bikes video, the blade, gsxr1000 and the busa in the twisties?

equal riders on all 3 bikes frosty on the busa, guess which bike came out on top?
Doesn't matter how fast someone else is on a particular bike. What matters is how fast YOU are on each bike. No 2 riders are equal, much less 3 of them. I can tell you right now I can go much faster in the twistees on a new R1 with stock suspension, then I can on a Busa with Ohlins shock, and Race Tech goodies in the forks. I get my information from the 2 bikes I have in my garage. That data is imperical, and is all I need to base my statement.

I think dude went home

And comparing the two is dumb. Ones an exelent track bike and ones the baddest drag/street bike ever made

Anyway, I agree, it is silly to argue the point. This years crop of liter bikes is incredible, even the outdated Gix 1K

BTW, the acronym comes from an encounter with a Chevy pick up. Needless to say, he won.

outdated? 04 R-1s still cant keep up with me?, none of the new liter bikes have the mid range torque of the gixxer and I wouldnt go crazy off the results of one super stock race? you may want to look at AMA stats too? thats what gixxers emulate...

Apparently you flunked emoticon class. The smiley face at the end of the sentence denotes SARCASAM.
Actually class this

denotes "Rock On!"

This is "piss on you"

Any more questions?

This is what I used to say when I had a 89 mazda 323 and racing integras. Their's was faster but I was crazier and better driver.
Now I don't have to be crazy. I just have to know how to hold on the handle bar!!!
