Can someone explain - riding in dealer mode

I don't think there is any danger riding in dealer mode as I've done it already although in 1st and 2nd only. I simply want to know what's going on. So far no one knows for sure here and at SH.ORG. And like I mentioned, this might be the only chance to troubleshoot an intermittent problem - so you can catch the code when the problem appeared because once the key is OFF, the code is gone.

The code is never gone...just need the right equipment to show it. My dealer has the laptop to bring up any codes that are stored in the ECU and can reset them. Interesting what you are doing...
 
Well, I am not a dealer, and connecting a laptop to see the codes is not practical even if doable, and going to the dealer so that he can read the codes for you is going to cost time and money and is therefore even less practical.

I'd rather ride in dealer mode in order to catch the code. I am just very curious why it affects the engine behavior at all.
