Can You Believe it?

So my girl and I took off for a ride on the new Busa tonight. Went to a pretty popular local pizza joint right on the outskirts of downtown Austin. We had a nice dinner, went out to the bike, and found a little note tucked into the center of the tree on the handle bars. I open the note and it reads "I scratched your cycle, on the right front housing, call me if necessary, Tom" So we start to inspect the bike and sure enought right where the main right faring meets the top faring there is a gash in the orange paint, you can see the black plastic. From there down the edge of the faring there is scratch about an inch long, and the Busa Kanji logo is also scratched. So from afar is does not look bad other than the chip of paint, very noticable. However it is scratched to me, and I know it is. Had a bummed ride home. The good news so far is at least he left his number, already called him and left a message. Even better, is his cell phone is with the company I work for, so I aleady have his address and contact info, so he better not try and avoid me! I want my bike fixed!!

I know what your first thoughts were....

If he was nice enough to leave his number he will probably take care of it.... I don't know about the side, but the front fairing is not expensive and comes with the decals already on. I replaced mine last week... The dealers tie-downs scuffed it when they delivered it so they ordered in a new one and told me the cost. They let me swap it out since I had things I wanted to install (headlight modulator and new PIAA bulbs) and needed to remove it anyway.

Yeah that is what I am hoping that the guy will call me back. Personally, I want the side faring and the front faring replaced, I don want a painted repaired faring, not on this bike that is not even a week old. So we shall see! Thanks

Ouch! I mean we all know our new bikes/cars will get dings eventually, but we always want it to be awhile before it starts

It was great that he left a note. Most people wouldn't. I hope you get everything taken care of to your satisfaction.

Sorry to hear, bro! Hopefully, he'll make it right...

You need a perimeter sensor system from scorpio, it keeps people from getting to close. Wandering eyes usually turn into wantering fingers.

I'm glad he left a note. To many people doing this stuff lately and just leaving...

He's not going to like the quote for parts though I hope it's taken care of...

Did a search online and found the front fairing and the side fairing new both together for around $650 shipped. I know I could install them myself, but I would rather the dealer, just to make sure it is done correctly.

man u r lucky I didnt get anothing on my car, just a dent on the passenger fender. And few month later a rock was tossed and no one left a note.

, but you are good just get new one. well get a quote from the dealer and get one off ebay new.

It's very cool of him to leave a note, so many would'nt. Hope you get it taken care of quickly, mine is getting new plastics on Monday!!!

Well talked to the guy, I was unlucky that the bike got hit, but lucky he left the note and he seems to be a really nice guy. He told me to get an estimate and let him know, if he can afford it, he would rather pay for it himself instead of going through his insurance. Question though, what is directly behind the area where the mid fairing meets the top. I think something behind it has to be broken or loose. I am able to push that in a little. If you look at the first picture you can see the spot I am talking about right where the two seams meet at the end. I can push that in a little. I want to make sure there is nothing behind that is messed up. I tried the other side and it does not budge. I am going to go to the dealer and see what they say, the prices I found online were from Ebay.

You have to admire the guy for leaving the note. That is truly stand up on his part. Let the dealership take care of things. They will be glad to write you up an estimate that you can give to the guy. All of the plastic has been replaced on my 04 and is getting replaced a second time right now. It's not a big deal, just a little aggravating for you I am sure.

I don't know how he did it, I had the bike in the middle of it's own parking spot. I did not ask the guy, I was just happy he was so nice about it all. I am gonna call the dealership on Monday, hopefully it will not take to long to get this all settled.

You only have ten days before his insurance will not pay. If he hasn't paid by the 9th calendar day, call his insurance and make a claim.

I doubt you'll have a problem if he's on the up and up enough to leave you a note, however, just stay aware.

So I went riding today with some buddies, first real ride on the busa (240 mile round trip ride, took the bike up to 130). They all could hardly tell the bike was scratched, so that made be feel better. What actually got on my nerves was how awesome all their bikes sounded with their aftermarket exhausts. So I started thinking, maybe I can live with the scratches and use the repair money towards an exhaust. The other guys I was riding with all had Yosh pipes and one had a racing Aprilia (03 Kawasaki ZX-9, 08 Suzuki B-King, and an 99 suped up Aprilia RSVR 1000). Compared to their bikes, mine sounded like a freakin electric moped! Oh and the B-King, looks way more impressive in person than online. I had not seen one in person until today, and boy does the dual undertail yosh set up look AWESOME!! The bike looks like a freak transformer or something. Anyways back to the point, should I fix the scratch or use the money towards and exhaust?

The turn signal pod is probably cracked or broken.

if your gonna get it fixed do the fairings and keep the olds as spares for just in case or sell them on ebay to put towards your exhause but don't use it directly for exhaust yeah you can but kinda shiddy tho
